On Monday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that Joe Biden is so healthy that she often has a tough time keeping up with the president.

Psaki made her comments to reporters during Monday’s White House press conference.

The questions, and Psaki’s comments, come in the wake of a puff piece in the Washington Post that claims Biden lifts weights in the morning and has a personal trainer.

Psaki On Biden’s health: ‘Sometimes He’s Hard To Keep Up With’

During the media briefing, a reporter asked Psaki a softball question based on the WaPo piece, about the president’s exercise regimen and if he is still using a Peloton stationary bicycle.

The White House press secretary said she did not have enough information to discuss what she called Biden’s “private exercise regime” but did mention she often has a hard time keeping up with him.

“I can tell you, having traveled with him a fair amount, sometimes he’s hard to keep up with,” Psaki said of 78-year-old Biden.

Biden Created National News With His Fall On The Steps Of Air Force One In March

In March, Biden took a spill while walking up the steps of Air Force One. The White House said that the president was not hurt and was healthy after the fall.

White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said after the fall became widespread news, “I know folks have seen that President Biden slipped on his way up the stairs to AF1, but I’m happy to report that he is just fine and did not even require any attention from the medical team who travels with him.”

“Nothing more than a misstep on the stairs,” she added.

Joe Biden Is The Oldest President In U.S. History

Joe Biden is already the oldest president in American history, displacing Ronald Reagan, who left the White House in 1989 when he was 77 years and 349 days old.

Biden will turn 79 on November 20.

Interestingly, the Washington Post’s article about Biden’s daily routine includes this passage:

“It was a rare glimpse inside a president’s actual life — the extreme scripting and almost surreal regimentation that define Biden’s days, from his arrival in the Oval Office just after 9 a.m. to his brief walk back to the White House residence for dinner with his wife by 7 p.m.”
