How many more “tear-jerking” deportation stories that the media has pushed will turn out to be completely bogus?
Back in May, the liberal media went crazy over one such case, with CNN reporting that a “Veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan could be deported.” That veteran, Miguel Perez Jr, who was described as someone honorably discharged, was later deported in March. CNN only mentioned that he had a “drug charge,” but they didn’t go into much detail.
In reality, Perez was arrested for transporting multiple pounds of cocaine in 2008, and sentenced to 15 years in prison (he served 7) before being released into ICE custody. In other words, the criminal justice system worked as intended – but the media wanted to portray this as a story of “Trump deporting a veteran.” The veteran was eligible to apply for citizenship before joining the Army and did not.
The latest faux-sad story involves ICE arresting a man that was driving his pregnant wife to a hospital to deliver their baby. It’s obvious how heartless that sounds at face value, hence the immediate outrage from those pretending this was a result of Trump’s policies:
ICE arrested a California man on Wednesday when he stopped for gas while driving his wife to the hospital for her C-section. She ended up driving herself the rest of the way, giving birth alone. https://t.co/T7MHsWvGVS

There’s heartless and then there’s whatever the hell this is. https://t.co/qWgPoJ2ABe

OMFG. ICE detained a husband as he was driving his wife for a C-section. She had to drive herself to hospital. The cruelty and inhumanity of this regime! https://t.co/lkZljMVq8I

Even the New York Times pushed the story:
A pregnant woman had to drive herself to the hospital for her C-section after US immigration agents arrested her husband when they stopped at a gas station. https://t.co/YpunVgcICK
— The New York Times (@nytimes) August 19, 2018
And they all left out one convenient detail; that this illegal alien was wanted for murder.
As the Daily Caller reported, “the media freaked out on Saturday after ICE arrested a man in southern California while taking his pregnant wife to the hospital, only for the agency to later announce he is wanted for murder in Mexico. Joel Arrona Lara, 36, was detained at a gas station in San Bernardino, California, while he and his wife were on their way to the hospital for her cesarean section. He reportedly had been living in the U.S. illegally for 12 years.”
In addition to living here for 12 years, Lara is now the father of five anchor babies, each of which will cost the American taxpayer over $11,000 of dollars each to educate (per year), not including the welfare benefits they’re undoubtedly eligible for and receive.
It’s incredible how shameless liberals have been when corrected on this story. Amy Siskind, who is quoted above, only posted “update” when issuing a correction.

That’s it: “update.” Not “thank you” for removing a murderer from the streets.

It shows just how desperate the Left is to politicize anything in the Trump-era, without any regard for the truth. How pathetic is it that Siskind and pundits like her were probably disappointed to learn that ICE had arrested a murderer, not an innocent father-to-be?
