GOP Sen. Josh Hawley: What Did Biden Know About the Nord Stream Pipeline Bombings, And Did We Pay For It?

Last week, the Washington Post reported that it was Ukraine – or at least one of the nation’s top military officers – who was responsible for blowing up the vital Nord Stream pipeline, something Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied at the time.

With this news, Republican Senator Josh Hawley wonders why the U.S. would continue sending Ukraine money.

Hawley, who has long been a critic of unqualified aid to Ukraine, made his remarks in an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday.

“The truth is Laura, we shouldn’t be sending any more money to Ukraine. And what else is true is that the Biden administration needs to come clean to the American people about what they know. We’re learning now from these news reports that our government had advanced warning about the Nord Stream 2 bombing, that our government knew that it was likely the Ukrainians that did it,” Hawley told Ingraham.

“I think it’s time that Joe Biden leveled with the American people.”

‘Has Any of Our Money Gone Towards the Nord Stream Two bombing?’

Hawley continued on that train of thought later in the program:

“And yet all we see is Ukraine with its hand out more, more, more while we are reading that, in fact, Ukraine is behind these bombings, that Ukraine is behind the sabotage, that we may have been involved with it.”

“We need to know how every dime has been spent in Ukraine. Has any of our money gone towards the Nord Stream Two bombing? Are there American troops or CIA agents on the ground right now in Ukraine? We need to know the facts here. Not a dime more for Ukraine and every dime that we have already spent needs to be accounted for right now…”

Hawley said there needed to be accountability for this foreign aid spending.

“We need a watchdog to account for every dime that has been spent,” he insisted. “I have forced the Senate multiple times now to vote on an oversight, inspector general who will do nothing but track the money and, Laura, they voted it down. Multiple times. This tells you that people in Congress, the administration they don’t want to know. They don’t want to know but the American people deserve to know.”

Ukraine Did It?

The Political Insider reported on Monday:

The Washington Post broke the news that a senior Ukrainian military official who served in the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces was responsible for the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines last year.

Allegedly, Colonel Roman Chervinsky was the “coordinator” of the Nord Stream operation. This news comes from officials in Ukraine and throughout Europe, although none are named in the article.

While Mr. Chervinsky might have been the coordinator, the story is that he wasn’t the one to plan this escapade in international undersea hijinks. The mastermind is a more senior Ukrainian official who reported directly to General Valery Zaluzhny.

General Zaluzhny is the highest-ranking military official in Ukraine. Also, it’s important to note that he is not on the best terms with President Zelensky due to his recent public remarks that he believes the war is at a stalemate.

This revelation is unlikely to help any of the principals in the backroom talks about a peace agreement with Russia.

It also adds more fuel for opponents of aid to Ukraine. With a $33 trillion national debt and rampant inflation, why is America sending money to any other countries at all, let alone ones that would carry out such attacks?

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.

  1. Seymour Hersch broke this story a year ago. The New York Times is playing catch up, trying to steal the glory of truth sayer from a truly worthy investigative journalist.

  2. My money is still on the US having blown up Nord Stream. I think they just don’t want to say it because it would have been an act of war against both Russia and Germany. Blaming it on Ukraine avoids the US from having to take responsibility, and Ukraine can do such things since they are at war with Russia, but it still leaves the touchy subject of Ukraine having committed an act of war against Germany, one of their major supporters. But really either way it doesn’t matter much who did it, it all looks like the same team from the Kremlin. Whether it was Biden or Zelensky doesn’t matter, relations with Russia will be negative for 3 generations now, and God help Germany if they get a cold winter.
