Gaslighting 101: Biden Admin Blames GOP for ‘Defunding Border Patrol,’ Putting Fentanyl on the Streets

Presidents past have always had press secretaries who bend facts a bit to push their boss’s agenda. They typically had a finesse about them when they spun information to put their administration in a positive light.

President Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, however, lies with impunity and does so in such a blatant fashion that reporters sitting there before her could easily fact-check her in real-time. If they so desired.

She doesn’t bend the facts, she shatters them in a cascading onslaught of lies.

One such instance took place on Tuesday when Jean-Pierre accused Republicans of defunding border security and trying to put fentanyl on American streets.

The claim came as part of a retort to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling proposal, which he presented last week.

“It’s clear that the speaker’s bill breaks House Republicans’ commitment to America,” Jean-Pierre claimed.

“In the run-up to the 2022 election, House Republicans promised to put cops on the beat. Instead, they are fighting to put fentanyl on the street by defunding border patrol.”

Karine Jean-Pierre Blaming Republicans For Fentanyl

Look, I’m not sure what Karine Jean-Pierre is smoking when she blames Republicans for the fentanyl crisis in America, but I’m pretty sure whatever it is came across the border under President Biden’s watch.

Critics mauled her for the comments.

The Heritage Foundation think tank stated the press secretary and the White House “must be counting on the media to shill for their blatant lies.”

“I can’t imagine going to work every day having to degrade myself by saying these things with a straight face,” tweeted political commentator Greg Price.

That part must actually be easy for her. See those people sitting in the seats, fervently taking notes while Jean-Pierre speaks? Those are Democrat stenographers masquerading as journalists.

Saying those things with a straight face is less of a challenge when you know the entire legacy media is cheering you on.

There’s what Jean-Pierre is peddling and then there is reality. Always.

The Border Reinforcement Act of 2023, introduced by House Republicans last week, calls for an “immediate resumption of border wall construction,” hiring over 22,000 full-time border patrol agents, and a means to support local law enforcement.

Representative Mark Green (R-TN) touted the legislation in an op-ed column for the New York Post, specifically citing Biden’s open border policies for an influx of fentanyl into the United States.

“Federal officials say CBP seizes just 5% to 10% of illegal drugs smuggled across the southwest border,” he wrote. “These anti-security policies are wreaking havoc on our nation.”

That’s the reality. Democrats are pro-open borders, making them pro-crime and pro-fentanyl. They have been for decades now. Not the other way around.

This is Their New Big Lie

Of note here is the fact that Karine Jean-Pierre’s comments on fentanyl are not a one-off. This is the new messaging coming out of the White House – blatantly lie to the American people in the hopes that enough people will believe the lies.

Less than a month ago, President Biden himself made a similar proclamation that it’s actually Republicans who are weak on the border.

“MAGA House Republican proposals would slash funding for border security – a move that could allow nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl into our country,” Biden tweeted.

“We need more resources to secure the border,” he added. “Not less.”

That’s pretty rich coming from the guy who halted construction of a wall at the southern border immediately upon taking office and said the border crisis was far less “important” than other matters.

It also comes from the guy who tried to stop Arizona from building a makeshift border wall out of shipping containers.

It’s almost as if they’re under the impression the media is exclusively on their side and they’re free to say whatever they want.

Perhaps earlier on in Karine Jean-Pierre’s press conference, there was a bit of a clue as to why she is so ridiculously bad at her job.

Before making false claims about fentanyl and fielding questions, Jean-Pierre took a moment to celebrate ‘Lesbian Visibility Week’ which, as far as I can tell, she completely made up.

“This week is Lesbian Visibility Week,” she said with a straight face (pun intended).

“And as the first openly queer person to hold the position of Press Secretary for the President of the United States, I see every day how important visibility and representation are.”

See that? Visibility and representation are more important than facts. Or being good at your job.

Karine Jean-Pierre became the face of the White House because she’s black, female, and ‘queer.’

She’s proven that she certainly is not standing up there because she knows what she’s talking about.
