President Biden was a victim of widespread mockery after claiming that it’s actually Republicans who are weak on the border.
The President claimed Republicans are trying to slash funding to secure the border, even as he has suggested in the past that the crisis was far less “important” than other matters.
“MAGA House Republican proposals would slash funding for border security – a move that could allow nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl into our country,” Biden, or somebody standing in for the President on his Twitter feed, wrote Saturday.
“We need more resources to secure the border,” he added. “Not less.”
As a candidate, Biden vowed to halt the construction of a wall at the southern border immediately upon taking office.
“There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration, number 1,” he said in an interview with NPR.
Biden would follow through, issuing an executive order on his first day in office terminating any construction of that wall.

Biden Says It’s Republicans Who Don’t Want Border Security
Political pundits on social media seized on Biden’s comments about security at the border and pointed out just how ridiculous his claims are.
“Nobody believes that you have reversed course and are trying to secure the border while Republicans have reversed course and are trying to open it up,” commentator John Hawkins responded. “Do you ever stop lying?”

GOP Rapid Response Director pointed out that the President and Democrats blocked efforts to hire more border agents and instead “hired 87,000 IRS agents.”

“Is this a joke?” shredded political influencer Rogan O’Handley. “You stopped the building of the wall and opened the border to millions of illegal aliens.”

Former White House press secretary under President Trump, Kayleigh McEnany, suggested Biden’s tweet must be a “parody.”

Gaslighting
Biden’s claims are particularly ironic for their reference to the 900 pounds of fentanyl.
Earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security seized exactly that amount of fentanyl at the southern border.
Last week, DHS officials said that our border was not secure. Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s budget fails to adequately fund homeland security and the border, leaving fentanyl pouring into our country.
This Administration has failed to prioritize the safety of the American people.

President Biden’s comments are a continuation of the administration’s efforts to gaslight the American people and subvert reality when it comes to border security.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was the object of criticism and derision after falsely claiming earlier this month that fentanyl levels at the border are at “historic lows.”
DOOCY TIME: “Cartels kill Americans on this side of the border w/drugs & now they’re killing Americans on the other side…w/guns. Why is President Biden so comfortable w/cartels operating so close to the U.S.?”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently admitted “we can do a lot more” to secure the border and stop the flow of fentanyl into America.
Perhaps Biden should worry about his own administration’s weakness on the matter before accusing Republicans of failing to secure the border.
