Every Living US President Is Descended From Slaveowners – Except One

A new study shows that over 100 top political leaders have ties to slaveholders - including every living President except Donald Trump.

They’re going to have to tear down an awful lot of statues and rename a whole bunch of schools across the country.

Reuters recently published results of an in-depth study on the ancestry of America’s top “political elites” and found that over 100 of the nation’s leaders descend from ancestors who enslaved black people.

The list includes 100 legislators, 11 governors, 2 Supreme Court justices, and 5 living Presidents.

“In researching the genealogies of America’s political elite,” the outlet found that “a fifth of the nation’s congressmen, living presidents, Supreme Court justices and governors are direct descendants of ancestors who enslaved Black people.”

And they come from both sides of the political aisle.

“Those lawmakers from the 117th session of Congress are Democrats and Republicans alike,” Reuters writes. “They include some of the most influential politicians in America: Republican senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton and James Lankford, and Democrats Elizabeth Warren, Tammy Duckworth, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan.”

Every President Descended From Slaveholders – Except One

Imagine that – Senator Warren (D-MA) has gone from pretending she shared ancestry with Native Americans to actually sharing ancestry with slaveholders.

We’re guessing she won’t be using that information on any future job applications the way she did her alleged Cherokee roots.

Let’s get back to those five living American presidents who are descended from slaveowners, shall we? There are currently six living Presidents – Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.

Any guesses as to who didn’t descend from slaveholders?

President Joe Biden and every living former U.S. president – except Donald Trump – are direct descendants of slaveholders: Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and – through his white mother’s side – Barack Obama. Trump’s ancestors came to America after slavery was abolished.

Oh. My. God.

The man they cast as the biggest threat to returning America to the era of slavery is the one with zero ties to such a horrid time in history.

Will Obama Owe Reparations?

Reuters used census records to determine that President Biden’s “great-great-great-grandfather enslaved a 14-year-old boy in 1850.”

The Politicial Insider reported previously that a genealogical researcher determined that ancestors on Obama’s mother’s side were slave owners.

And former First Lady Michelle Obama doesn’t have a clean slate either.

During Barack Obama’s ‘A More Perfect Union’ speech in March of 2008, Obama described his wife’s lineage as:

I am the son of a black man from Kenya and a white woman from Kansas…. I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slaves and slave owners– an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters.

The blood of slaves and slaveowners? Michelle Obama will have to pay reparations to herself.

Extremists on the left have spent the past few years arguing that historical figures need to have their statues removed for owning slaves hundreds of years ago, insisting that reparations must be paid for the sins of the past, despite no living person today ever having endured slavery.

When will the roads and schools named for Obama, Clinton, Carter, Biden, and Bush be renamed? When will those statues come down? When will their presidential libraries be razed?

Of course, we’re being facetious. Having ancestry to slaveholders or slaves means absolutely nothing to who the person is today. Everybody in this country recognizes that slavery was abhorrent.

This study, while fascinating, provides absolutely nothing in terms of meaningful information.
