Don Lemon has said that his guests were to blame for making him laugh at Trump supporters on a segment on his show on Saturday.
“You Elitists with Your Geography and Your Spelling!”
On Saturday, Lemon played host on his show to Rick Wilson, the former Republican strategist who’s turned tail and fled to be one of the left’s “conservative” commentators, and Wajahat Ali, a CNN commentator. Wilson cracked a joke, claiming that President Trump “couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you had a letter U and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it,” which caused Lemon to burst out laughing.
Wilson continued, saying that the Trump administration is defined by “ignorance of the world, which is partly him playing to their base and playing to their audience,” who Wilson described as the “credulous boomer rube demo.” Wilson and Ali both started putting on southern accents, and mocking Trump supporters, saying things like, “you elitists with your geography and your maps, and your spelling,” and “only them elitists know where Ukraine is!” Lemon continued to laugh during this time, and made no effort to speak out about their mockery.
The arrogance, the dismissiveness, the smug cackling, the accents.

There was a massive backlash online to their comments, with many pointing out that it showed what the media elites really think of genuine Americans. Even President Trump joined in, writing that “Don Lemon [is] the dumbest man on television!”

Don Lemon Hates Trump Supporters
Lemon took a minute out of his show on Tuesday night, saying that it was “personally important” to him to address the controversy.
“Ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you. I don’t believe in belittling people, belittling anyone, for who they are, what they believe or where they’re from,” Lemon said. “During an interview on Saturday night, one of my guests said something that made me laugh. And while in the moment, I found that joke humorous. And I didn’t catch everything that was said. Just to make this perfectly clear, I was laughing at the joke and not at any group of people.”

I don’t believe a single word that came out of his mouth. It’s clear to me that just like the rest of the liberal media elite, Don Lemon despises anyone who supports President Trump. If he truly was concerned about not “belittling” anyone, then why did he let his two guests go on and not immediately apologise for them ridiculing Trump voters?
I can tell you something now – if this was flipped the other way around, he wouldn’t let a conservative get away with saying that “oh I didn’t catch everything that was said,” if they had made off-color comments about one of the Democrats’s protected classes. This apology is fake, and is only happening because of the rightly deserved backlash.
