As a black man, I’ve always heard that the American justice system is broken and against me. If I were to allow this narrative to marinate in my brain, I would never get anywhere in life. How can I move forward with progress if I am harboring thoughts that life is already stacked up against me?

This is what I heard growing up with friends who didn’t know any better. They chose to allow the system to swallow them up, and it happens every day because most see no way out. The so-called liberal “leaders” push this failed theory, and it resonates day after day because that’s what they see.

Actor Denzel Washington refuses to believe in the myth of black oppression spread by liberals. He was asked by a reporter: “For black people, in particular, do you think that we can truly make change as things are right now?”

Here’s his response: “Well, it starts in the home. If the father is not in the home, the boy will find a father in the streets. I saw it in my generation and every generation before me and every one since.”

He added, “If the streets raise you, then the judge becomes your mother and prison becomes your home,” reported the Wall Street Journal

Washington has always stressed the message of strong families and personal responsibility; this is nothing new but some in the media highlight it more when they think he says it for the first time, because it’s straight up common sense.

“It starts with how you raise your children,” he said. “If a young man doesn’t have a father figure, he’ll go find a father figure. So you can’t blame the system. It’s unfortunate that we make such easy work for them.”

And when talking to your liberal co-workers, remind them that the source of the destruction of the black family was endless giveaways by the Democrat Party as they went from ownership-slavery to welfare-slavery as their means of control. Before their grand liberal experiment, black families were pretty strong.

But I do not just blame it on the Democrat Party; I also include the Republican Party for not being a stronger alternative voice for years. They allowed lies to fester and if you look to your left and look to your right, this is where we are right now.

Washington is one of the few good men in Hollywood. He gives back in knowing what he earns and that you can’t put a price tag on it.
