Kyrsten Sinema Wins Arizona Senate Race, Besting Martha McSally

Last week proved that the “blue wave” so many pundits expected was less than earth-shattering. Democrats performed below average in the House and failed to retake the Senate. In addition to the uncertainty in Florida, the race for the Arizona Senate seat between Kyrsten Sinema and Martha McSally managed to cause some chaos of its own. McSally was initially leading the race, but nearly a week later, Sinema has emerged the victor.

According to Arizona Central:

“Sinema’s unbreakable hold on Maricopa County, along with her overwhelming support in Martha McSally’s Tucson-based congressional district, gave Sinema an edge Republicans could not erase in the race for Arizona’s open U.S. Senate seat. The Associated Press called the Senate race for Sinema on Monday evening and Republican McSally tweeted her congratulations to Sinema.”

Sinema viciously attacked Arizona voters during the campaign

Throughout her campaign, public comments from Sinema’s past – with varying degrees of craziness – were brought to light.

She “doesn’t care” if Americans join the Taliban, more relevant to her race, she spoke poorly of the people she wanted to elect her.

She told a crowd, “You know, all of us who have been in Arizona for quite some time — people like myself, who are native-born — will remember learning in second- or third-grade about the five ‘Cs.’ You guys remember the five ‘Cs’? Cotton, cattle, citrus, climate, and copper. Well, I think we should add a sixth, and it’s called ‘crazy.'”

And did I mention that video above was but the fifth released showing Sinema mocking the residents of her state? In other videos she refers to Arizona as the “meth lab of democracy,” tells an audience that Arizona “should serve as a warning symbol for each of you,” and complaining that Arizona is famous “in a not good way… we’re famous in a Lindsay Lohan kind of way. Not good.”

Despite that, the voters of Arizona chose a candidate who believes them to all be a bunch of meth heads over McSally. Seriously: she once referred to her state as a “meth lab of democracy.” Take a look:

Outgoing Republican Jeff Flake, a rabid Trump hater, congratulated Sinema for flipping his seat from RINO to Democrat.

Of course Flake is happy that an enemy of the current administration was elected over McSally.

No ‘blue wave’

While Democrats took back the House, on the whole the election was not a sweeping repudiation of the current Congress. On CNN’s coverage, Van Jones called the results “heartbreaking,” while Jake Tapper observed that “there is no blue wave.” Even more interesting, Tapper noticed that it was mainly anti-Trump Republicans that lost their races, meaning that the Republicans in the next Congress will be even more pro-Trump.

Such an upset this was for Democrats that even a Republican candidate who died last month won his race in Nevada.

  • Like some other states Arizona has had an influx of Californians. They aren't happy in California so they move to other states, but the sad part is that they take their political stance with them and make their "new" state into what they hated about their former state.

  • You will never convince me that this Code Pink Dim won this race without Dim hijinks being involved. I believe if you checked any race throughout the US, especially a close race "eked out" by the Dim candidate, it was through fraud of some kind. To think of going from Senator Barry Goldwater to Senator Sinema would indicate that AZ has deteriorated more than we can imagine. Too bad AZ doesn't have the fortitude to fight this like the FL republicans did.

  • she won by stealing, they opened some last minute voting places calling them, emergency voting places, there was no emergency except Martha McSally was ahead so, they opened these scam voting places. that's how she lost, and they got away with the scam. the crooked person in charge did like the Florida scammer were doing, he let it happen. i believe if you could have checked it out closer, you would have found problems like in Florida.

  • Another hole in the budget, how is someone like this going to be able to write legislation insure that people will be served? One can only hope cocaine isn;t on her personal lists of Cs

  • Hard to believe that Arizona would elect a American-hating, sanctuary city loving anti-military over a professional patriot with military experience. Could they all believe the lies told in the video ads about McSally? Maybe it is the voting system that is being overwhelmed by imports from the coast.

    • bep777 we did not elect this person, she stole it by emergency voting scam pulled off by the democratic party who had one of theirs in charge of the election.

  • I'd suggest a recount of votes. Look at what happened in Fla! the same could/probably happened in AZ what with all the illegal voting

    • gizmo: it did happen here they did it in a different way. they open emergency voting places , the only emergency at that time was McSally was ahead of the democrats and the man in charge was probably a democrat. the last minute emergency scam was to get votes for the crazy women who was loosing before they opened the last minute voting scam places.
