According to documents compiled in a ‘Statement of Disbursements in the House,’ Representative Cori Bush (D-MO), an ardent ‘defund the police’ advocate, used taxpayer money to pay for private security.
The statement shows that Bush paid $880 on February 19th to a company called RSAT Security Consulting, LLC.
According to the Daily Caller, RSAT Security has an Instagram page that features “photos of police officers, military members, and members of the Secret Service.”
Bush utilizing the services of such a company while advocating to ‘defund the police’ seems a moral contradiction.
While the amount paid for this one exchange of services is minor, security for herself seems to take precedence over the cause.

Even as she publicly called to ‘defund the police,’ Cori Bush was spending a good amount of campaign money on her own security.
According to her April Quarterly 2021 financial report, Bush utilized a similarly named security consulting firm three other times: $7743.75 on February 17th, 2021, $5,812.00 on February 26th, 2021, and $2,456.25 on March 15th, 2021.
All told, Bush spent over $30,000 on her own security in the first quarter.
The Daily Caller in April reported that she, along with other members of the Squad, had spent thousands of dollars on private security for themselves.
Federal Election Commission (FEC) records showed that Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) also spent thousands to protect themselves.

It’s Not a Slogan
Cori Bush, who has since used taxpayer money to fund her own private security, slammed Barack Obama after the former President criticized “snappy” slogans like “defund the police” as a losing political argument.
“With all due respect, Mr. President—let’s talk about losing people,” Bush tweeted. “We lost Michael Brown Jr. We lost Breonna Taylor. We’re losing our loved ones to police violence.”
“It’s not a slogan,” she insisted. “It’s a mandate for keeping our people alive. Defund the police.”

Prior to that, the Missouri Democrat called on defunding the Pentagon.
“If you’re having a bad day, just think of all the social services we’re going to fund after we defund the Pentagon,” Bush tweeted in October.

Bush recently described America as “racist AF” – a vulgar acronym for the “f-word” – in response to Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) who argued that America is not inherently racist.
Our communities wouldn’t have needed to spark a national movement to save Black lives if America weren’t racist AF.

The congresswoman raised eyebrows when, just days before Mother’s Day, she referred to women as “birthing people.”
Her cries to ‘defund the police’ though, have been her most adamant calling, making her use of private security an example of hypocrisy at its finest.
But then, being a member of the Squad requires hypocrisy, seemingly as a prerequisite for admission.
