CNN host Chris Cuomo criticized “Trumpers” for going after Greta Thunberg, but was immediately met with a reminder of his network’s coverage of the Covington Catholic kids.
Cuomo’s comments came in the midst of a controversy surrounding Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin who suggested Thunberg, a radical climate activist propped up by her parents, isn’t qualified to discuss economic matters.
“Is she the chief economist? Who is she? I’m confused,” Mnuchin asked when reporters inquired as to his thoughts about Greta’s economic suggestions.
“After she goes and studies economics in college, she can come back and explain that to us,” he advised.
Cuomo took offense to someone in the Trump administration going after Thunberg.
“Why do these trumpers think it is ok to go at a kid?” he tweeted with little sense of self-awareness.

It took no time at all for followers on social media to point out Cuomo’s utter hypocrisy when it comes to ‘going at a kid.’
In particular, critics noted that Cuomo’s own network had to settle a massive lawsuit with Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann after the teenager sued for smearing him with fake news reports portraying he and his friends as racists.
Indeed, CNN had to settle a massive lawsuit brought forth by Sandmann.
The Covington Catholic student became the main focus of a media eager to portray supporters of President Trump as racists. And Sandmann, who happened to be wearing a MAGA hat at a rally in Washington, appeared in a video of an alleged confrontation with a Native American man.
He was accused of being a racist, though other video debunked that notion and actually proved Sandmann handled the matter with aplomb, deescalating the situation.
That didn’t stop CNN from going after him.
Reza Aslan, a former contributor to CNN, posted a picture of Sandmann and asked, “Have you ever seen a more punchable face?”
Despite Cuomo’s feigned outrage, we’re not aware of anybody – least of all ‘Trumpers’ – suggesting Thunberg needs to be punched in the face.
You know what they say about those living in fake news glasshouses.
