On Tuesday, CNN’s political director David Chalian said that the lights set up around the Reflecting Pool at the National Mall for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration are like “extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America.”

The lights are meant to represent the nearly 400,000 Americans who have died from COVID.

“The contrast on display tonight was so stark. I mean, those lights that are just shooting out from the Lincoln Memorial along the Reflecting Pool, it is like almost extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America,” Chalian said.

Chalian On Biden: “In This Moment Of Remembrance, Outstretching His Arms’

Seriously? Looks like the unchallenging, White House-loving Obama-era press crops in back in business.

Chalian continued, “It was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms.”

The CNN personality said this with zero sense of irony.

He continued, “Contrast it with the video you saw of a disgraced president on his way out at his lowest point in his presidency at the very end here, by himself, fighting for his political movement to live on, and not even necessarily promising that he is going to be leading that movement, you noted in his remarks tonight.”

Media Will Be Lapdogs For Biden

“I think that sort of isolated moment of Donald Trump inside the White House versus Joe Biden on the National Mall with an embrace of the country in this dark time on the eve of his becoming the 46th president,” Chalian added.

“You couldn’t get a stronger contrast,” he finished.

No, you couldn’t.

The media has spent four long years finding absolutely nothing positive to say about President Trump, and though Joe Biden isn’t even in the White House and hasn’t done anything yet, media personalities gush over his imaginary outstretched arms to supposedly comfort us.

You can’t make this stuff up – but rest assured they will.

As progressive journalist Glenn Greenwald put it on Tuesday, “Not even North Korean TV would say this. Just listen. LOL. Damn.”
