Biden Tells U.N. Era Of ‘Relentless War’ Is Over – One Day After Bombing Syria

In his first speech to the United Nations on Tuesday, President Joe Biden said that his decision to end the U.S. war in Afghanistan meant that the “period of relentless war” is over.

Biden’s comments came just one day after his administration bombed Syria, claiming to have targeted and killed a “senior al Qaeda leader.”

Biden promised to rebuild alliances he believes former President Trump undermined and to make America a global leader again.

Biden Dropping Bombs While Claiming End To War

“As the United States turns our focus to the priorities and the regions like the Indo-Pacific that are most consequential today and tomorrow we’ll do so with our allies and partners through the cooperation of multilateral institutions like the United Nations to amplify our collective strength and speed,” Biden said.

“Instead of continuing to fight the wars of the past, we are fixing our eyes and devoting our resources to challenges that hold the keys to our collective future,” the president said.

Biden then claimed that relentless wars were over.

“As we close this period of relentless war, we’re opening a new era of relentless diplomacy,” Biden said.

Biden said that using the U.S. military “must be our tool of last resort, not our first.”

Besides having just bombed Syria, it has also been revealed that the Biden administration killed 10 civilians in Afghanistan, including seven children

The Pentagon and administration officials had initially claimed the strike killed “ISIS-K” terrorists.

Clearly, the relentless wars are not over.

Biden was criticized by both major American political parties and around the world for his botched U.S. exit from Afghanistan.

But his administration is still defending their strategy and blaming Trump for the current chaos in Afghanistan.

Biden Administration Still Defending Afghanistan Withdrawal Strategy

Last week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Congress, “We inherited a deadline; we did not inherit a plan,” citing Trump’s withdrawal plan with the Taliban. “There had not been a single interview in the Special Immigrant Visa program in Kabul for nine months, going back to March of 2020. The program was basically in a stall.”

“We made the right decision in ending America’s longest war,” Blinken said. “We made the right decision in not sending a third generation of Americans to fight and die in Afghanistan.”

In addition to the aforementioned bombings, drone killing in Afghanistan, the Biden administration bombed Syria in early July, an act of war that is was as relentless as it was unconstitutional.

Business Insider’s Bonnie Kristian wrote on July 2, “The Biden administration launched airstrikes against Iran-linked militias in Iraq and Syria, the Pentagon confirmed Sunday, reportedly killing five militia members and, if Syrian state-run media accounts are correct, one child.”

Kristian noted, “The administration cast the strikes as a defensive measure to keep US troops in the region safe from the militias’ drone attacks, proof that ‘President Biden … will act to protect US personnel.”

Kristian then noted Biden’s hypocrisy regarding “forever” or now “relentless” wars.

“This characterization is consistent with the Biden team’s broader messaging on Iraq and Syria, which is that Iraq wants our military to stick around indefinitely, that ongoing occupation of both nations is right and needful to defend against Iran and the last remnants of ISIS, and that these wars aren’t analogous to the ‘forever war’ in Afghanistan Biden promised to end,” she wrote.
