On Sunday, President Joe Biden claimed that history would see his policies regarding the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan as right, despite the chaos that continues to unfold in that war-torn country.
Biden made his comments after delivering a White House speech on the current events in Afghanistan and America’s reduced role there.

Biden On His Afghanistan Withdrawal Strategy
Biden replied to an inquiring reporter, “I think, that history is going to record this was the logical, rational, and right decision to make.”
The president also said that it was inevitable that leaving Afghanistan would be chaotic, despite his April promise that it would be done “responsibly, deliberately, and safely” and not “hasty.”
Biden said four months ago on April 14, “Let me be clear, the evacuation of thousands of people from Kabul is going to be hard and painful no matter when we started; when we began.”

Biden Disapproval High On Afghanistan
When reporters brought up polls that showed a majority of Americans no longer considered him a competent president, Biden claimed he had not seen these polls.
Biden said his decision to leave Afghanistan was “basic” despite the awful and seeming lack of planning in how the U.S. exited that country after two decades of war.
“My job is to make judgments,” Bien said. “My job is to make judgments nobody else can or will make.”

Biden Said His Critics On Withdrawal Just Want The U.S. To Stay Longer In Afghanistan
“I made them,” he added. “I’m convinced I’m absolutely correct.”
Biden then said his critics just wanted him to stay in Afghanistan longer.
“Look, at the end of the day, if we didn’t leave Afghanistan now when do we leave?” Biden asked.
“Another ten years? Another five years? Another year?” the president finished.
Biden has been widely panned from both sides of the aisle for his handling of the Afghanistan crisis. When it comes to how history will view his actions, he may be in for a big surprise if he actually thinks the perception will be a positive one.
