Biden Loses ABC And CBS Over Afghanistan

In early 1965, at his only inauguration, the press worshipped Lyndon Johnson. The successor to a martyred hero, as it was said, Johnson would hold aloft the fallen banner of liberalism.

In many ways he did just that. He passed The Great Society, voting rights bills, civil rights bills, and he was thus lionized by the likes of the Times, Post, and other liberal news outlets, not to mention all the television networks.

But less than three years later his name was mud over a patch of rice paddies in Southeast Asia. Is the same thing happening to Joe Biden, but much sooner, over Afghanistan?

Media Turns On Biden

CNN led the field last week and murdered Biden over the bugout. MSNBC followed their lead. The Times and Post are not far behind. Also remember, these outlets act as veritable assignment editors for thousands of smaller news outlets across the country.

This is not the great realignment of the news industry. This is merely, as in the case of LBJ, news types smelling blood in the water and rushing to feed. Also, modern newsies are hard left and are suspicious of Biden because of his former reputation as a moderate. They are much more in the AOC/Ilhan Omar mode. Ergo, they know if Biden falls for any reason they can manipulate his airhead successor almost any way they please.

That’s why it’s no surprise this last Sunday and late last week that both ABC and CBS jumped on the bandwagon. Both news organizations have covered and sucked up to Biden. But the word went out last week, either from news honchos or from other sources of Democrat influence, that Biden is fair game. In fact, only sad Democrat members of Congress are defending him over Afghanistan.

ABC And CBS Call Out Biden

Fox News:

“ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl questioned the Biden administration’s description of the evacuation effort in Afghanistan as a ‘success,’ arguing their statements are not based in reality. However, after last Thursday’s suicide bombings, which took the lives of 13 U.S. service members and 170 Afghan citizens, ABC “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz asked her Sunday panel whether the White House can still stand behind such statements.”

“They have been describing something that isn’t reality,” Karl said of the administration. “This has been an incredible airlift, more than 100,000 people evacuated, but what a disaster. Clearly Thursday was the worst day of the Biden presidency. And we don’t really know, Martha, how bad it really is.

CBS News said essentially the same thing last week, during a gabfest between anchor Norah O’Donnell and chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes. “It’s the worst day of the Biden presidency, Norah. It’s a very momentous time for this White House.” Not something Biden wants to hear from his formerly lapdog press pals.
