What a long, accomplished, and storied life Barbara Bush led.

The former First Lady had her ups and downs in life, but she was, without a doubt, an incredibly strong woman, and one of the best, toughest of her time.

Today, the public gets to pay respects to Barbara in a public viewing in Houston, Texas. For those who went to see the First Lady off into the afterlife, they were greeted by a familiar face.

The Daily Mail reports:

Former President George H.W. Bush, sat next to his wife, Barbara Bush’s coffin on Friday in Houston, greeting mourners who came to pay their respect to his wife.

Barbara and George were married for 73-years. She passed away on Tuesday at 92-years-old.

Thousands are expected to attend Barbara’s general public viewing throughout the day Friday, which will last from noon to midnight.

Mourners who came to pay their respects to Barbara Bush were met with an extraordinary sight: her husband, George H.W. Bush, sitting beside her grave, together until the end. Grab a hankie before you watch this beautiful video:
