Alabama is free to pass laws for their own state. If Alabamans don’t like it, they’ll vote those people out. This is a democracy.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t want this opportunity to pass her by regarding the strict new abortion law passed in Alabama on Wednesday evening. She joined widespread liberal criticism over the specifications of the legislation and decided to break down what it meant — through her eyes.
On Thursday, AOC tweeted that abortions: “aren’t just about controlling women’s bodies. They’re about controlling women’s sexuality. Owning women,” she wrote. “From limiting birth control to banning comprehensive sex ed, US religious fundamentalists are working hard to outlaw sex that falls outside their theology.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez most certainly does not represent the people of Alabama and they do have the right to enact their own laws, so her objection is meaningless except to get her name in the tabloids.
She is nothing but an attention getter glowering in seeing her name there, but she is most certainly not a leader and definitely hasn’t represented her constituents, having done nothing to benefit them.
AOC – please spell out, in detail, your timeline and curriculum for sex education, when it should start, who should be in charge of the details, and please include a comprehensive description of all abortive procedures and the benefits therein.
Ultimately, this is about women’s power.
When women are in control of their sexuality, it threatens a core element underpinning right-wing ideology: patriarchy.

If she spent as much time working for her district as she does before a reporter, mic and television camera perhaps something could be done to meet their needs and I understand there are many. Perhaps she does not understand what she was elected to do? It appears she is somewhat lost and unable to find her way and lacks understanding of who she represents.
AOC needs to stay out of Alabama’s business.
With so many options to prevent pregnancy, it is amazing to me that a civilized and progressive nation has no qualms with murdering an unborn child and considers those opposed to it trying to control a woman’s sexuality.
The left wants the right to terminate life unfettered and will sight science only when it’s in their favor. What they do not want to discuss is when is a fetus determined to be a living person. Science has moved to early in the womb, that a living being is determined early. Yet, they will not discuss the merits of the science because it contradicts their point of view. So, if science says a living being is developed early in the womb, then giving parents the right to terminate a living being at any age would be no different than late-term abortion. The left will also scream about Climate Change and the science behind it as full truth and dire, yet deny that same science in the face of a living being.
I always think it’s ironic when Democrats complain about their rights being taken away, when they daily attack other rights, such as the 2nd Amendment, free speech, due process and any others that protect everybody.
