Wells Fargo and TD Bank have turned over President Trump’s financial records to the House Financial Services Committee, Fox News confirmed on Thursday, amid a contentious legal battle between the Trump administration and congressional Democrats seeking access to sensitive files.
The banks are two of the nine financial institutions with which congressional Democrats are seeking cooperation. The push has led to an escalating legal battle on multiple fronts.
On Wednesday, a federal judge in New York ruled that two other banks, Deutsche Bank and Capital One, were required to comply with congressional subpoenas seeking access to Trump’s financial records. [Fox News]
I don’t get why a citizen of the US has to hand over private information to Congress. Law enforcement must have reasoning for a judge to permit this, yet Congress can just do this?

The House Financial Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Maxine Waters, wants documents dealing with Trump businesses where banks conducted with suspected Eastern European and Russian money launderers.
“The potential use of the U.S. financial system for illicit purposes is a very serious concern. The Financial Services Committee is exploring these matters, including as they may involve the president and his associates, as thoroughly as possible pursuant to its oversight authority, and will follow the facts wherever they may lead us,” Waters said after issuing the subpoenas.

I am so sad for the people who understand the truth of what is happening to our country. The media is horrific, yet, most people have no understanding of what is going on in our country. We deserve to hear the truth on both sides.
