Country Music Star Dierks Bentley Cancels Shows Due to Illness

Dierks Bentley is one of the most popular country music stars performing today. Since bursting on the scene in 2001, Bentley has written 11 albums and has been nominated for countless awards, including 11 Grammy’s.

Bentley is also a 3-time Country Music Association winner, and has headlined tours every year since 2006, but was just forced to take the rare move of canceling a show.

Bentley took to Instagram to announce that he had to cancel a show in Birmingham, Alabama due to an unexpected illness.

According to Al.com, the concert has yet to be rescheduled, but “the promoter said tickets for the original date would be honored then. Refunds can be requested at the place of purchase, Live Nation said.”

Taste of Country notes that “Bentley recently kicked off the second leg of his What the Hell World Tour, which features openers Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi. The run began on Jan. 19, and the headliner previously said he selected openers that crack him up.”

Apart from his solo career, he co-headlined a tour with fellow country music star Miranda Lambert in 2013, who made headlines last year for her powerful take down of anti-gun liberals.

Here’s a video of Bentley performing his hit song “Somewhere On a Beach” at the 2016 CMA Music Festival:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bentley and we hope he has a speedy recovery!
