CNN Falls To 13 In Cable News Ratings

CNN is probably having the worst 2 weeks of any news media outlet in modern times.

Now, this is not to say that CNN hasn’t had significant problems before the last two weeks. Obviously their on-going feud with President Trump over being called “Fake News” has been disastrous for them. But the sheer amount of terrible news, coming from all angles, in a short two week period of time is astounding – and well-deserved!

It all began on Friday, June 23, 2017, when CNN was forced to retract an entire article and apologize to Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci for reporting that he was under investigation in connection with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. Within days 3 CNN reporters were forced to resign over the story.

Furthermore, CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta has behaved like a crybaby in White House press briefings, using a camera during an off-camera briefing and complaining that President Trump held a “fake news conference.”

James O’Keefe and Project Vertias have been dropping undercover videos with one CNN producer saying the Russia story is “mostly bulls***” and another calling Trump voters “stupid as sh**.

CNN has beclowned themselves with stupid segments like using Elmo to attack President Trump’s travel ban – they couldn’t even get their Independence Day quotes right, for goodness’s sake!

And perhaps you heard about the Twitter meme war? President Trump tweeted a WWE video of himself “beating up” the CNN graphic, CNN freaked out, hunted down the creator of the meme, threatened him and backlash from across the political spectrum ensued. (By the way, the guy they found might not even be the right person.)

It’s no wonder that a new PBS poll shows Americans trust the Trump Administration over the mainstream media by a 37-30 margin.

Now comes the cherry on this turd sundae, CNN has fallen to #13 in the cable rankings!

Fox News and MSNBC are listed as first and second, respectively, in the cable rankings, which measured average audience sizes for the period between June 26 and July 2. Fox News drew an audience of around 1.82 million while MSNBC drew an audience of 1.34 million. CNN had only 711,000 viewers on an average day during the measurement period.

Fox News has maintained the top spot over the past five TV Newser rankings analyzed by The Daily Caller. MSNBC has bounced between the second and third position while CNN has steadily fallen from sixth to thirteenth over the past month.

The network has slipped in another important category.

For the week ended June 4, CNN was viewed by 1.0 percent of all households, on average. Fox News was watched by 2.0 percent while 1.3 percent of households watched MSNBC. But for the most recent week, CNN was watched by just 0.8 percent of households. Fox News and MSNBC were viewed by 2.1 percent and 1.5 percent of households, respectively.

Ladies and gentlemen, grab some popcorn, we are watching CNN implode in real time right before our very eyes.
