5 Stories the Media Buried of Gold Star Families Opposing Obama

The father of the first fallen Navy SEAL under President Trump refused to meet with the president when he went to pay his respects at Dover Air Force Base earlier this month. This revelation and the father’s purported search for answers led all the major newscasts this weekend. But did any of them devote as much time and prominence to all the Gold Star Families who blasted Obama when he was president?

Patriotic Americans recognize and honor the sacrifice our troops and their families make on our behalf every day, no matter who is in power. But suddenly, only now that we have a Republican president again, the media is interested in fallen heroes and their grieving families once again. The double standards at play would be laughable if we weren’t talking about the lives of our heroes. Instead, it’s shameful and downright sickening.

Here are some of the military families who rebuked former President Obama and demanded answers that the mainstream media ignored the past 8 years.

Marine Father Sends Condolence Letter Back to President Obama

Steve Hogan, father of fallen Marine Hunter D. Hogan, received a condolence letter from “Mr. Barack Obama” and sent it back with a little piece of his mind.

“Mr. Barrack Hussein Obama,

I am deeply saddened that you are the President of the United States. You sir are an embarrassment to the Oval Office. My son, as well as most Marines I know, despise you and your lack of representation for our military. Your ridiculous rules of engagement have caused the massive amount of casualties on your watch in Afghanistan. While we watch your media pander to your administration and clearly sweep things under the rug for you. I fully understand Marines die. You have tied their hands & feet! I am thankful I did not serve under a Comm. in Chief such as you. I am sickened that my son had to. I wonder… I doubt that you will see this, I hope you do though!

Steve Hogan”

Parents of Fallen SEAL Team Six Member Eviscerate Obama in Brutal Open Letter

The parents of SEAL Team Six member Aaron Carson Vaughn know what real courage and sacrifice is. Billy and Karen Vaughn’s son was killed with 37 others on August 6, 2011, when his helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan. After watching the sickening beheading of James Foley, they were inspired to write a scathing open letter to President Obama:

After finally choosing to view the barbaric, on-camera beheading by ISIS of freelance war correspondent James Foley, I have been left with a level of rage known only to those of us who have sacrificed unspeakable offerings on the altar of world peace.

My offering was my only son — Aaron Carson Vaughn. Aaron was a member of SEAL Team VI. He was killed in action when a CH47D Chinook, carrying thirty Americans and eight Afghans was shot down in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011.

Many times over the past three years, I have been asked what drove my son to choose his particular career. What made him want to be a Navy SEAL? My answer is simple.

Aaron Vaughn was a man who possessed the courage to acknowledge evil. And evil, once truly acknowledged, demands response. Perhaps this is why so few are willing to look it in the eye. It is much simpler — much safer — to look the other way.

That is, unless you are the leader of the Free World.

As Commander-in-Chief, your actions — or lack thereof — Mr. President, cost lives. As you bumble about in your golf cart, slapping on a happy face and fist-pounding your buddies, your cowardly lack of leadership has left a gaping hole — not only in America’s security — but the security of the entire globe. Your message has come across loud and clear, sir: You are not up to this job. You know it. We know it. The world knows it. …

Navy SEALs’ Families Blame Obama for Putting a Target on Their Backs

The Vaughns were not the only family members who lost loved ones in that helicopter crash who were angry at Obama. Two years after the disaster, the families came together to hold a press conference demanding the government be held accountable.

The family members, speaking at the National Press Club, tried to reopen the book on the crash, in which 30 Americans were killed, most of them belonging to the same unit as those who carried out the raid on Usama bin Laden earlier that year. The helicopter was shot down by insurgents.

During the event organized by a group called Freedom Watch, family members and former military personnel claimed President Obama turned the SEALs group into a Taliban target after the administration revealed they had conducted the bin Laden raid.

Doug Hamburger, whose son Patrick was killed, called the incident an “ambush” that could have been prevented.

“We’re very concerned that the administration had disclosed that the Navy SEALs had carried out a successful attack on bin Laden’s compound resulting in his death. And you know, never before in the history of our county (had) a sitting president released that type of information to the public, especially when he was talking about special forces. Their names and their missions had never been revealed before. And we really feel that this put our guys in an unnecessary risk,” Hamburger said.

Many military experts at the time, including some of Obama’s top military advisers, had questioned the White House’s public praise of SEAL Team 6 and said it put members in danger.

Uncaring, Aloof Obama Sends Autopen Form Letters of Condolence to Devastated Parents Months Too Late

The parents of USMC Cpl. Joseph D. Logan were devastated when a condolence letter from President Obama came 4 months after his death in a form letter that was identical to the ones sent to the families of his fallen comrades, complete with an autopen signature. His father Tom Logan wrote a long letter to Obama about his son and his death, saying in part:

The only thing missing was a letter from the President. Was this an oversight? These men died for what they believed in and our country’s involvement in war against global terror. They had seen what our spiritual and moral enemies have done in all parts of the world. Sit down and talk to the soldiers who have fought these battles and returned home. What they have endured, 130 degrees in the summer and below zero in the winter. Did they complain?” No.” I have visited our V.A. hospitals and seen what war has done to these forgotten men.

They kept focused on the mission and completed it. Joey called me in December and asked me what the wind chill factor was if he were flying at 130 mph at zero degrees. I did the calculation and it was 47 degrees below zero. He said, “No wonder we feel so cold.” These were the conditions the night they died. Where is their Purple Heart for shedding every ounce of blood? The first and most important letter or phone call should have been from the Commander and Chief. It never came. How many families have felt the same way?

How would you feel when a letter that came from the President of the United Stated of America and my son’s Commander &Chief, and it was delivered out of the back of a UPS truck, written on a form letter. All five of the other families received it in the same manor. It is almost impossible to express the sinking feeling that went through me when I opened it. I felt as bad as I did that early morning, when Joey’s remains were removed from the plane at Dover. He went from a great young man who loved life and his country to a box of broken pieces. This reopened a wound that will not heal.

All we are asking for is the honor and dignity all our service men and women deserve. …

Benghazi Dad Says Obama “Had No Remorse”

Once of the most infamous military blunders of the Obama administration was the Benghazi terrorist attack on 9/11/2012. We know the administration lied about the cause of the attack to protect themselves, but even worse was the way Obama treated the attack victims’ families.

The father of one of the Navy SEALs killed in the September attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya says that President Barack Obama did not seem sorry when he met him at the ceremony in which the bodies of the four slain Americans were returned to the United States. Vice President Joe Biden, he says, also made a disrespectful joke about his son.

Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, described meeting Obama and Biden at Andrews Air Force Base to Glenn Beck on the conservative commentator’s program Thursday night.

“His face was pointed towards me but he would not look me in the eye,” Woods says of meeting Obama. “I could tell he was not sorry. He had no remorse.”

These are only 5 examples of our previous Commander-in-Chief failing our men and women in arms and their families. Obama’s disdain for our military was always clear, but the media provided cover for him. Now that we have a president who loves and supports our troops again, the media has their guns trained on him.

There is no doubt that every single military action Trump is involved with will get heavy scrutiny, while Obama quietly quadrupled the number of deaths of soldiers in Afghanistan. We honor the service and sacrifice no matter who the president is, shouldn’t the media do the same?

To be clear, Bill Owens reserves the right to think, feel, and grieve in any way he chooses, regardless of who is president. And we will send our prayers to him and his family.
