Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asserted it would take very little time to explain to former President Donald Trump that he would be unable to bring peace in the country’s war with Russia should he win in 2024.

Trump has consistently claimed the incursion never would have happened in the first place if he hadn’t lost the election in 2020, and he has also insisted he could end the war almost immediately through peace negotiations if he were President again.

“If I were president, the Russia-Ukraine War would never have happened,” he previously said. “Never in a million years. But even now, if I were president, I’d be able to negotiate an end to this horrible and rapidly escalating war in 24 hours.”

Trump has been calling for an end to the war for some time, fearing it may lead to a new World War.

In a campaign video released over 10 months ago, Trump said, “It is far past the time for all parties involved to pursue a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine before this horrific catastrophe spirals out of control and leads to World War III.”

Zelensky Insists Trump Can’t Bring Peace In Fiery Interview

In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Zelensky insisted an end to the war would not come so quickly, and certainly not within 24 hours of Trump assuming the Oval Office.

The reason, he states, is because of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s unwillingness to bend.

The Ukrainian President invited Trump to visit his country and noted President Joe Biden had done so and “think(s) he understood some details” of what was going on.

“If he (Trump) can come here, I will need 24 minutes — yes, 24 minutes. Not more. Yes. Not more — 24 minutes to explain [to] President Trump that he can’t manage this war,” he said. “He can’t bring peace because of Putin.”

When asked if a second term for Donald Trump would result in support from him and his administration, Zelensky replied, “Really, I don’t know. Really, I don’t know.”

Zelensky Drops F-Bomb Directed At Putin

In addition to his comments directed at Trump, Zelensky raised some eyebrows for having to be censored by NBC News over his remarks about Putin.

When asked by NBC’s Kristen Welker about what keeps him going throughout the war, Zelensky replied that he has “a lot of power.”

“I have a lot of energy,” Zelensky said, seeming to indicate he’s ready to fight for the long haul.

“It doesn’t mean that we want to fight all our lives, because the price is high, like I said. Because the war takes the best of us,” he continued. “But we are not ready to give our freedom to this fucking terrorist, Putin.”

Zelensky went on to suggest that the American people wholeheartedly support Ukraine.

“I think it’s important in the United States and E.U., the attitude of just ordinary people. It’s their support. It’s their money,” he explained. “It depends on them.”

“I know that they support Ukraine, love us,” he concluded.

Polls have shown support amongst Americans for the war in Ukraine has consistently waned in recent months.
