Wow: O’Reilly Goes Off On Mayor De Blasio – He Must Resign

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly absolutely shredded the mayor of New York City in his Talking Points segment, saying he has put police officer lives in danger by choosing ideology over leadership.

O’Reilly explained that Bill de Blasio’s comments and actions over the last few months have led silent police protests against the mayor, and perhaps more importantly, an actual work slowdown from the NYPD.  A new report indicates that arrests have dropped well over 50% in the city as compared to the same timeframe last year.

O’Reilly went on to say that there is little doubt that de Blasio is going to “ruin the nation’s largest city.”

He would also ask, “And he wonders why (the police) despise him?”

O’Reilly saved his most impassioned commentary for one particular action that he says demonstrates the mayor has “spit(ting) in the face of his own police department.”

Via Fox News Insider:

Less than a day after Officers Liu and Ramos were murdered, 18-year-old Devon Coley allegedly posted a photo to Facebook which showed a man shooting into an NYPD car. The Brooklyn DA asked for $250,000 bail because Coley has a long arrest record and is an alleged gang member, but Judge Laura Johnson ruled that there should be no bail, O’Reilly explained.

Johnson had to be re-appointed to the bench by New Year’s Eve, and most people felt she had no chance after the “outrageous decision,” O’Reilly said.

“But Mayor De Blasio did re-appoint her, symbolically spitting in the face of his own police department. And de Blasio wonders why these men and women are turning their backs on him, why they despise him? […] No sane judge does that, and no responsible mayor condones it.”

Watch the entire Talking Points Memo below, it is a fantastic takedown of Mayor de Blasio …

O’Reilly would go on to reiterate his stance that the mayor simply must resign.

“The vast majority of the NYPD and all other American police agencies,” he said.  “Protect us from evil, from harm, from destruction.”

“The one thing the police cannot protect us from is a politician like Bill de Blasio.”

  • O'Reilly seems to say US a lot as indicating he is referring to WHITES. The black male that was killed by a choke hold for a misdemeanor crime for selling non taxed cigarettes was uncalled for. The officers should of just pulled out their citation books written him a citation to appear in court and been on there way. The police officers convicted him to a death sentence. O'Reilly should go to a good make up artist have them disguise him as a black male then he should walk the streets of New York City and see how he is treated. He needs to walk in a black mans shoes.

  • de Blasio should be forced to resign immediately. His remarks are inflammatory and divisive. He has sided with the criminals and against the police. Under those circumstances there is no way he can effectively lead NYC.

  • Bill is right on this one. Isolating the police like Big Bird did rules out his ability to govern the city effectively. And Bill Bratton needs to go too. Saying the police dishonored the Chinese cop was a BS move and completely political too. The police honored the detective's funeral by showing up. They dishonored DeBlasio by turning their backs on him when he eulogized an officer the mayor has no respect for. Bratton needs to wise up fast or leave too.

  • O'Reilly is wrong about what motivates progressives. They don't care if blacks are mistreated by police. The perception, however wrong, is enough to be useful to them. To progressives, any dispossessed underclass is only a means to their end - political domination.

Karl Marx explained this dynamic at length in The Communist Manifesto.
