‘Wonder Years’ Star Danica McKellar Reveals How She Found God After Being Biased Against Christianity

The former “Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar has been open about finding God later in life thanks to her close friend Candace Cameron Bure of “Full House” fame. In a new interview, McKellar is opening up about how she was able to find God despite having a bias against Christianity for much of her life.

McKellar Finds God After Anti-Christian Bias

“I’ve been around Christianity my whole life in some way, shape or form, but it never really clicked,” McKellar, 48, told Fox News. “And my good friend Candace Cameron Bure… she brought me to church. And all I can say is that something happened.”

“All I know is… I was flooded with this love and understanding,” she continued. “I’d always been so biased against Christianity for various reasons, mostly because of the bad reputation it’s gotten with causing wars, and you think, ‘Oh, Christians are these really judgmental people,’ and all this religious stuff. The truth is, Jesus was anti-religion. He was anti-religion, and I didn’t even realize that.”

‘I Feel So Blessed’

McKellar went on to say that after Cameron Bure took her to church to see a “passion play,” she felt “suddenly understood.”

“Everything I always thought about there being some higher power and wanting to do the right thing, just because it’s the right thing, when no one’s watching, why that matters, and it all just came into focus,” she added. “And I feel so blessed. I do have this very recent memory of being a nonbeliever, and I have no judgment whatsoever, I just want people to feel the love and peace that I feel now.”

McKellar concluded by revealing what her favorite part about becoming a Christian is.

“You don’t feel alone anymore in your moments where you are by yourself, you’re not alone,” she said. “And the fact that that’s available to everybody at any time… I thought religion was this restrictive thing, it’s actually the most freeing thing in the world.”

‘It’s Been A Amazing Life Changer’

McKellar previously opened up about her faith journey in an interview with Fox News back in October.

“I would not say I’ve embraced religion so much as relationship. I’ve found my faith, and it’s been an amazing life changer,” McKellar said at the time. “I have this sense that everything’s going to be fine in a way that I never really had before.”

“I am so grateful to Candace Cameron Bure for bringing me into this era of my life. She really had a lot to do with it,” she added. “Also my dad. He’s been a believer for a long time. It’s just been a beautiful, beautiful gift, and it feels so good, and I want everyone to have that feeling.”

Last year, McKellar thanked Cameron Bure directly while appearing on her podcast

“Candace, I don’t wanna brush over the huge, huge impact that you’ve had on my life this year,” McKellar said, according to CBN News. “I don’t even know how to call that like friendship, it’s more than that. Because of you helping me to find my relationship with God and Jesus, it’s been like a revolution in my life. It’s been a revelation in my life.”

We’re so glad to see that McKellar finally found God after all these years. Her story serves as a reminder that it is never too late to become a person of faith!
