Woke: Britain’s Ministry Of Defence Wants Huge Increase In Number Of Women Serving

A recent report indicated that Britain’s Ministry of Defence wants to to double the proportion of women recruits in the military by 2030.

The report came from the U.K.’s Sky News.

UK Military Wants More Women At Arms

Sky News reported, “The UK plans to more than double the proportion of women joining the armed forces to 30 percent of all new recruits by 2030, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has revealed.”

“The new target emerged in a response to a damning report by MPs that exposed the level of sexual harassment, assault and bullying suffered by female service personnel,” the report said.

The story continued, “The MP who led the report said it was clear the MOD saw improving the experiences of women in defence as a priority and she applauded ministers for accepting the majority of some 50 recommendations she and her colleagues had made.”

“The armed forces have long been criticized for their service justice system because of a lack of independence, with the military effectively investigating itself,” Sky News noted.

“It is disappointing that the Ministry of Defence has refused to remove cases of rape from the Court Martial jurisdiction despite clear evidence that the current system is failing to deliver justice,” Ms Atherton said.

This push for more women recruits comes at a time when British military’s manpower has declined year after year for almost a decade.

Sarah Atherton, a Conservative MP and the chair of Parliament’s Women in the Armed Forces Sub-Committee, said, “It is clear that the military is a male-dominated institution and so I am pleased that the government has set itself ambitious targets, such as doubling the proportion of female recruits, and has accelerated workstreams on women’s health, uniform and equipment.”

This is not the first seemingly “woke” Britain’s Armed Forces have appeared to make in recent years.

‘Diversity and inclusion’

Breitbart London reported in September 2020, “Senior British Army officers are set to introduce a Diversity and Inclusion Directorate to enforce politically correct standards in the forces and will hire a team of equality specialists to carry out the woke initiative.”

“The army will invest over £500,000 on the new staff, as well as an additional £110,000 per year salary for the Director of Diversity and Inclusion,” Breitbart noted.
