Watch: Thousands of Police Officers Again Turn Their Backs On Mayor De Blasio

Despite an effort by Commissioner Bill Bratton to shame police officers into what he deems proper behavior, thousands of NYPD members again turned their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio as he eulogized fallen Officer Wenjian Liu.

Numerous NYPD members had already turned their backs on de Blasio as he entered a hospital to pay respects to two officers executed in late December. They did so again at the funeral for fallen Officer Rafael Ramos.

Police officers have been fed up with the Mayor, who has referred to police action in the Eric Garner case as being guided by “centuries of racism” and saying he had to tell his son Dante, who is biracial, that he should never reach for his cellphone when interacting with police because he ‘might be misinterpreted if it was a young man of color’ by police.

De Blasio continued to spit in the face of his own police force when it was discovered that he was privately organizing a campaign to smear any police officers that attempted to embarrass him.

Despite that organized campaign, and the Commissioner’s attempts to get the NYPD to stand down, the police officers remain united in their fight against the race-baiting mayor.

Watch …

One officer stated that he would “continue to turn my back whenever I hear (de Blasio) speak because he disrespected me” and the murdered police officers.

Another said he couldn’t “stand even looking at him” while still another charged that de Blasio is “a joke, everything he says today, he’s doing it to cover his a- -.”

Over 23,000 people attended the funeral for Officer Ramos, while another 28,000 were in attendance to pay their respects to Officer Liu. Officials are saying it was the largest NYPD funeral ever.

Share your thoughts on the police officers’ actions – Are they justified in turning their backs on the Mayor?

  • I to have a sons thats a police officer I am with the police turn your back on him ever time you see him...God Bless are police officers

  • I agree with the police. This mayor has lost all respect and should step down ASAP. He is a socialist, anti police race baiter.

  • These men have every right to do as they wish, hopefully there will not be a next time but if there is, maybe this politician should remember his actions caused the Police action against him for his pathetic behavior.

  • As the mom & Grandma of two LEOs I too stand on the side of the Police. The Police have a right to express themselves just as anyone else. After all....it's their lives being put in danger!! Al Sharpton, Bill de Blazio & Pres. Obama are a disgrace!!

  • You are very lucky to have a son in an organization run by a State government. I know several Federal officials that under intense pressure to never say anything bad about the POS President. They have freedom of speech as long as they want to work for someone else!!!!

  • uh..isnt the mayor the guy who hires the police chief?
Wouldnt that mean that any racism or corruption that supposedly went on in the NYPD falls directly at the feet of the current mayor since he is their boss and didnt deal with it before now?

  • I support these officers 100%. How else can their voices be heard. Bill Bratton has a right to say what he thinks as far as how the officers behave but they have a right to their own opinions. This is a pathetic excuse for a Mayor and he never has been supportive of his Police Dept. I know he will not step down but in reality he should. He puts the NYPD in an even more dangerous place every time they hit the streets or try and resolve a problem. I only wonder how he ever got elected.

  • I agree with the police. It seems that the mayor, our President, Al Sharpton and protesters all have protected freedom of speech. Police have no freedom of speech ?? I'm the mother of a State Trooper so I have intense feelings here. What comes out of the mouths of our country, state, and city leaders, has everything to say about their true feelings in their hearts ! They have made their beds and are now lying in them. You cannot speak as they have and not think that there words did not incite anti-police protest and killings and attempted killing of police to occur. SHAME ON THEM ! By the way, where is Al Sharpton ? Is he hiding while planning his next attack on law and order ? The mayor, as well as our president, has much to think about and if he has an truly honest , thought and conscious , he needs to take to the microphone and apologize for his words and behavior in not supporting his police force and condemn they protestors for their actions. It seems the police and all those in law enforcement , are good enough to protect them and their family, while at the same time they dish out dirt on them. Without our law enforcement we have lawlessness which leads to anarchy. I sometimes think that this is what they really want to occur ! They want power by any means !

    • Linda..I am the mother of 2 policemen and I support what they are doing as well. I was taught growing up if you want respect than you must show respect and that mayor does not deserve and show of respect. This is a country that guarantees the freedom of speech not the freedom of speech only if I like it. I may not like what I hear the President, Holder, Sharpton or Jackson says but I do understand they have the freedom to say it. A police officer is an American first with the same rights and freedoms we all have and if turning their backs on a disrespectful person no matter who is called for than I am all for it. Maybe Mayor deBlazio will start to think about what he is saying before he says it or get better advisers around him who will stop the idiot from opening his mouth.
