Watch: President Trump Makes An Example Out of Jim Acosta Yet Again

President Trump blasted Jim Acosta as “snarky” when confronted by past statements regarding the coronavirus crisis, and told the CNN reporter he should try asking a “real question” instead.

Acosta, as many of his colleagues in the mainstream media have been doing of late, attempted to catch Trump in a ‘gotcha’ moment using past quotes.

“What do you say to Americans who are upset with you over the way you downplayed this crisis over the last several months?” he inquired prior to running off a list of quotes.

Urging Calm

The President responded first by explaining that it is a leader’s responsibility to urge calm in the midst of crisis, then by pointing out he isn’t technically wrong, and then by tearing Acosta apart in front of everybody.

“It will go away, and I do want them to stay calm, and we are doing a great job. If you look at those individual statements, they’re all true,” Trump replied. “Stay calm. It will go away. You know it is going away and it will go away and we’ll have a great victory.”

This is such an important point. Do you remember the media outrage when Barack Obama tried to quell fear over ISIS, continually downplaying their importance?

Neither do we …

An Agitated President

The point having been made, Trump moved on to simply hammering Acosta and CNN, a favorite past time of the President.

“It’s people like you and CNN that say things like that — that’s why people just don’t want to listen to CNN anymore,” he shot back. “You could ask a normal question; the statements I made are — I want to keep the country calm.”

He could ask a normal question, but why would Acosta start now?

“Instead of asking a nasty, snarky question like that, you should ask a real question,” Trump continued before skipping to another reporter.

Acosta The Hypocrite

Aside from playing low-intelligent ‘gotcha’ games, Acosta may be on the receiving end of Trump’s ire due to his hypocrisy in covering the President and the coronavirus crisis.

The CNN hack accused Trump of being a racist for defining the virus by its origin – China.

“I think we should point out, at one point during the address the president referred to the Coronavirus as a quote, ‘foreign virus,'” he whined earlier this month.

“I think it is going to come across to a lot of Americans as smacking of xenophobia to use that kind of term in this speech.”

Acosta, however, just weeks prior to Trump’s comments, reported that officials in China were taking measures “to contain the growing spread of Wuhan Coronavirus.”

You know, that city in China. Where it came from. Like Trump said.

One can hardly blame President Trump for firing back at Acosta on a regular basis, even implying he might have “the worst record in the history of broadcasting.”
