Unsubstantiated “MeToo” Allegations Surface Against Robert Mueller

Robert Mueller fired back against claims from Jack Burkman, a conservative commentator, who claimed that on November 1st, he would “reveal the first of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s sex assault victims.” In response, it’s been learned that Mueller referred to the FBI allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about him.

Just like the accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, these accusations are completely unsubstantiated. But unlike the accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, liberals are willing to give Mueller the benefit of the doubt, instead of flooding the airwaves with their “believe women” rhetoric.

According to CNBC, Mueller spokesman Peter Carr told them that, “When we learned last week of allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about the Special Counsel, we immediately referred the matter to the FBI for investigation.” Burkman reportedly offered one woman $20,000 to accuse Mueller of sexual harassment.

Jack Burkman’s claims against Mueller

Burkman, a lobbyist who has a radio show called “Behind the Curtain,” frequently criticizes Mueller’s special counsel on his show, and has called on President Trump to fire him.

According to The Atlantic:

“The special counsel’s office confirmed that the scheme was brought to its attention by several journalists who were told about it by a woman alleging  that she herself had been offered roughly $20,000 by a GOP activist named Jack Burkman “to make accusations of sexual misconduct and workplace harassment against Robert Mueller.” The woman told journalists that she had worked for Mueller as a paralegal at the Pillsbury, Madison, and Sutro law firm in 1974. The firm has not returned a request for comment about whether the woman actually worked there.”

The reaction to Burkman has been overwhelmingly negative. By all accounts, the man doesn’t seem to have any credibility with either end of the political spectrum.

And what a difference there is between how the political Right and Left treat these kind of allegations. We have what appears to be an obvious case of totally unsubstantiated hokum, and the Right has been universal in condemning the accusations.

Did the Left do that when Kavanaugh’s accusers changed their stories? Or lied about their fears of flying? Or couldn’t even remember how they got to and from the party where they were allegedly assaulted? Or lied about their experience in taking polygraph tests? Did the lack of any other witnesses matter? The list goes on – and in the case of Kavanaugh’s non-credible accusers, the Left didn’t care. The allegation was just as good as the truth for them.

Making up false allegations against Mueller just makes him look like a threat to Donald Trump’s presidency.

He isn’t.

The special counsel has raged on for over a year without finding anything, and if there were proof of collusion, it would’ve been uncovered long ago. The majority of Americans already see the counsel as a witch hunt, so who cares? It’ll be over after the midterms regardless, and I suspect Mueller chose that timing because he’s concluding the investigation with no grand revelation.
