How shameless must the media be to take a mass public shooting carried out at a Synagogue by a man who hated President Donald Trump, and twist it to somehow blame it on Trump?
The Washington Post ran an op-ed asking “How much responsibility does Trump bear for the Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh” – as if the answer could be anything other than “zero percent.” I suppose they aim to put Trump in a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” scenario, whereas if he addresses the massacre it’s “not good enough,” and if he doesn’t, it’s due to supposed anti-semitism. That’s the only impression I can glean when the media is pushing the narrative that Jewish leaders are rejecting President Trump’s condemnation of the massacre.
As Ben Shapiro wrote in the Daily Wire, “Over the weekend, the press began a narrative drumbeat suggesting that President Trump was somehow responsible for the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh on Saturday – the deadliest anti-Semitic shooting in American history. On Monday, key members of the press amplified that message by quoting supposed Pittsburgh Jewish leaders saying the same thing.” One such group, “Bend the Arc,” released a letter from Jewish leaders to President Trump accusing him, among other things, of causing the massacre. “For the past three years your words and your policies have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement. You yourself called the murderer evil, but yesterday’s violence is the direct culmination of your influence,” they wrote about the President with a Jewish daughter and son in law.
Jewish leaders in #Pittsburgh pen powerful letter to Trump.

But who is Bend the Arc? A radical left-wing group interested in politicizing the massacre, of course. As Shapiro continues to note:
The group is merely a Leftist political action group with a Jewish label. Their stated mission is “rising up in solidarity with everyone threatened by the Trump agenda to fight for the soul of our nation.” Their missions include the election of “progressive champions” and the implementation of “progressive legislation and policies, like criminal justice reform and economic equity.”
Who runs Bend The Arc? Alexander Soros, George Soros’ son.

Unsurprisingly, quite a few people in the media ran with this claim. I should note that a few did correctly identify them as leaders of a Jewish progressive group. pic.twitter.com/HpSZkhvLsh

Meanwhile, Jews who aren’t being funded by billionaire political operatives are welcoming President Trump. Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, the Tree of Life Synagogue’s Rabbi told CNN this morning that “The President of the United States is always welcome. I’m a citizen. He’s my president. He is certainly welcome.” In other words, the Rabbi of the Synagogue that was attacked is welcoming Trump with open arms, while the media is highlighting the fact that some random Jewish progressive groups don’t like him.

And the latter “story” is getting all the coverage. If the media wants Trump to stop branding them an “enemy of the American people,” they certainly need to stop giving him so much ammunition.
