Trump Vows To Invoke Wartime Powers Allowing Him To Unilaterally Deport Illegal Immigrants

Donald Trump vowed to invoke the Alien Enemies Act if elected, a wartime law that would allow the President to authorize the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants over the age of 14.

Donald Trump vowed to invoke the Alien Enemies Act if elected, a wartime law that would allow the President to authorize the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants over the age of 14.

Trump’s pledge came during a campaign stop earlier this week in Dubuque, Iowa.

“One of the most important issues in this campaign is ending the nation-wrecking catastrophe on our southern border. There’s never been anything like this,” he declared.

As such, the leading GOP contender for the White House promised to “carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

“I’ll also invoke immediately the Alien Enemies Act to remove all known or suspected gang members,” Trump added.

Trump Will Deport Illegal Immigrants Using Alien Enemies Act

The Alien Enemies Act, part of the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, will be used, according to Trump, to end “the scourge of illegal alien gang violence once and for all.”

It is not without its controversies.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt used the authority granted in the Act to incarcerate Japanese Americans in internment camps during World War II.

The Alien Enemies Act is the lone portion of the Alien and Sedition Acts that has not been repealed or expired. It is unclear how the President would invoke the Act, with the current border invasion not taking a form of war that would facilitate a typical declaration.

The law states that a president may order non-citizens “to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies” when he or she is deemed as coming from a “hostile nation.”

Democrats have attempted to repeal the wartime law being cited by Trump. Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN), in introducing the Neighbors Not Enemies Act in 2020, described the Alien Enemies Act as “outdated and xenophobic.”

Videos Show The Biden Border Invasion

Trump’s vow to invoke the Alien Enemies Act to deport illegal immigrants stands in stark contrast to President Joe Biden’s open border policies.

As reported by The Political Insider, the Biden administration just granted hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan illegals permission to live and work in the country temporarily.

Simultaneously, videos posted by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin on the social media platform known as X (formerly Twitter) show “neighbors” by the thousands casually walking across the border away from legal ports of entry.

The onslaught of illegal activity prompted Texas Governor Greg Abbott to announce on X that he had officially “declared an invasion.”

“Two years of inaction on your part now leave Texas with no choice but to escalate our efforts to secure our State,” Abbott wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden.

Former President Trump, during the same campaign speech, hit illegal immigration hard and also said that he would expand his travel ban to “deny entry to all communists and Marxists to the United States.”

Those who are already in the United States are known as Democrats.

“Under Crooked Joe, lawless mobs of unscreened, unvetted illegal alien migrants are stampeding across our border by the millions and millions, including hoards of criminals, terrorists, human traffickers, child smugglers, gang members, and inmates emptied out of their prisons, insane asylums and mental institutions,” Trump said.

“This is an invasion and I’m the one candidate who from day one knows exactly how to stop it,” he continued.

Trump also promised to pull some military personnel from overseas stations to come secure the southern border.

“We guard other people’s borders, but we don’t guard our own,” he explained.

That has to stop. And it will never cease so long as Biden is in the White House.
