Ilhan Omar Introduces Bill to Halt Trump’s ‘Muslim Ban’
Representative Ilhan Omar has introduced a bill attempting to remove the legal justification for what she calls President Trump’s “Muslim ban.”
The move comes as the President has vowed to expand the travel ban (it’s actual and accurate description) to include other nations who fail to implement proper security precautions when allowing residents to travel to the United States.
“We do not want to import terrorism or any other national security threat into the United States,” White House spokesman Hogan Gidley explained.
Omar, it seems, does not concur and she vows to stop this plan by eliminating the Alien Enemies Act.
“This outdated and xenophobic law is an offense to our values as a nation, which should stand as a refuge for those fleeing violence and persecution,” Omar declared. “It is a perfect example of outdated immigration laws that are being exploited and abused by this Administration.”
“As the President seeks to expand the Muslim Ban, we must close policy loopholes that he can exploit to cause harm to our neighbors, our country and the values that we hold dear,” she added.
Today, I introduced the Neighbors Not Enemies Act to fully repeal a 1798 law that allows the U.S. president to target groups of foreign nationals.
Trump even cited the law to justify the Muslim Ban.
It’s past time to take this xenophobic law off the books.

Not a Muslim Ban
Of course, the President’s travel ban isn’t a ‘Muslim ban’ at all, actually applying to a very low percentage of predominantly Muslim nations around the globe.
There is no religious discrimination in the travel ban. It’s a completely fabricated interpretation by liberal extremists.
The ban has always been about blocking nations who harbor and promote terrorist activity from infiltrating legitimate groups of refugees or immigrants to cause damage to our nation. There are nearly 50 Muslim-majority countries on the planet – the ban pertains to but a handful.
That hasn’t stopped Omar, a serial oppressor of truth, and others from making the claim that it is a racist or religious ban. Terrorism is not defined within any one race or religion. It must be stopped, regardless of demographics, and if certain nations aren’t doing their part to assure America’s security, action will be taken.
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, Omar’s colleague in pushing fake news, has referred to the travel ban as “straight-up racism.”
Which is, notably, straight-up stupid.
No more waiting. Too many Muslims have been intentionally targeted, discriminated against, separated from their families and denied opportunities solely based on their faith. Straight up racism!

Democrats Not Concerned With American Safety
Daniel Horowitz, editor at the Conservative Review, explains why the travel ban is an essential policy borne from the events surrounding 9/11, and critical in this era of heightened tensions in the Middle East.
“Nations or terror groups can threaten us from within through our porous border and ill-conceived immigration policies,” he wrote. “That was the lesson of 9/11 that, 18 years later, Trump has an opportunity to finally apply.”
No worries, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes.
Aside from Omar’s efforts, Pelosi announced that the House will consider legislation over the next few weeks to put a halt to the President’s travel ban in any form.
“House Democrats continue to stand opposed to President Trump’s cruel, un-American travel ban in all of its iterations,” she said in a statement.
The only un-American people in this equation are Omar, Pelosi, and the rest of the resistance movement.
