Rashida Tlaib Claims Trump’s Expanded Travel Ban is ‘Straight-up Racism’

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib blasted President Trump and his administration for considering an expansion of the travel ban from countries harboring terrorist activity, citing it as “straight-up racism.”

The Associated Press reported this past weekend that multiple sources believed President Trump was set to dramatically expand the number of nations currently on the travel ban list due to inadequate security measures.

That report dutifully shaped the argument for members of the Squad, noting that “a majority” of the nations being considered were predominantly Muslim. The two have nothing to do with each other.

Naturally, Tlaib took that dubious fact, ignored the security concerns and the realization that there are nearly 50 Muslim-majority countries on the planet while the ban pertains to but a handful, and immediately played the race card.

“Too many Muslims have been intentionally targeted, discriminated against, separated from their families and denied opportunities solely based on their faith,” she wrote. “Straight up racism!”

Speaking of Straight-Up Racist

We’re heading into 2020 and it appears several Democrat lawmakers, particularly members of the Squad, have no idea what ‘projection’ is.

It takes a high level of audaciousness to criticize everybody around you of racism when you are provably the actual racist.

Tlaib’s bigotry, antisemitism, hatred of America, and fondness for terrorists is well documented:

  • Tlaib said thinking of the Holocaust provides her a “calming feeling.”
  • She called critics of her Holocaust distortion “racist idiots.”
  • Accused pro-Israel advocates of having dual loyalty.
  • Has a long history of associating with terrorists.
  • Supports the BDS movement and posed for photos with a campaign fundraiser who promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

As for ‘straight-up’ racism?

Tlaib recently told the Detroit police chief that he should hire blacks exclusively to run their facial recognition software because other races think African-Americans “all look the same.”

Just one month ago she embarrassingly had to delete a tweet blaming “white supremacy” for a Jersey City shooting that left several people dead. The shooters were black.

Travel Ban Works

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley lauded the effects of the travel ban, claiming it “has been very successful in protecting our Country and raising the security baseline around the world.”

Gidley added that exclusion from the list is rather simple – adhere to immigration laws and comply with security measures sought by the United States.

“Common-sense and national security both dictate that if a country wants to fully participate in U.S. immigration programs, they should also comply with all security and counter-terrorism measures,” he said.

“We do not want to import terrorism or any other national security threat into the United States.”

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, a man whose every thought and utterance echoes that of the Squad, disagreed, parroting Tlaib’s comments.

“We must stand shoulder to shoulder with the Muslim community,” said Sanders. “Trump’s travel ban has never been about keeping America safe … It has always been a racist attempt to ban Muslims from entering the United States, which cannot be allowed to stand.”

The Supreme Court ruled 5-to-4 that President Trump’s travel ban fell within the president’s executive purview, accepting the premise that the ban served a national security interest. They did not find it to be racist.

Tlaib, Sanders and every other Democrat criticizing it, by contrast, seemingly have no desire to protect Americans or pursue national security.
