When First Lady Jill Biden visited a vaccine clinic in Hawaii on Sunday urging people to get the COVID-19 vaccine, she was met by supporters of former President Donald Trump who had some brutal messages for her.

Jill Biden Met By Trump Supporters

When Biden visited Waipahu High School, which houses a coronavirus vaccine clinic, she was met outside by Trump supporting protesters who wore T-shirts that said things like “All Lives Matter” and “Trump won,” according to Newsweek.

Two of the demonstrators even showed support for the protesters in Cuba who are currently fighting for freedom against the communist regime there.

“Trump won,” one of the protesters shouted at the First Lady as she tried to ignore them.

Biden Makes Appearances

Despite this, Biden claimed that she felt right at home at the school, given the fact that she is a former teacher herself.

“There were probably times when you probably wondered if you were going to make it through all the chaos,” Biden told reporters at the school.

“You’ve done everything you can to protect the people of Hawaii,” she added to Democratic Hawaii Governor David Ige.

When asked if she was frustrated by the number of Americans who are still unvaccinated, Biden said, “We’re keeping on! We’re not going to stop until we get everybody vaccinated.”

Biden Travels To Olympics

This visit came directly after Biden travelled to Tokyo, Japan for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. While staying at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Tokyo, she cheered on Team USA via Zoom, and she also attended the opening ceremony on Friday night.

This was Biden’s first solo international trip since her husband Joe Biden took office earlier this year. Prior to traveling to Tokyo, Biden went to Alaska to promote the COVID-19 vaccine there, according to ABC7.

“Even as we celebrate the progress we’ve made, we know that this last push is really the hardest of all,” she said in Alaska, adding that getting more people vaccinated will mean making the case “person by person.”

Biden has spent much of the first few months of her time as First Lady pushing the vaccine. It remains to be seen what she will devote herself to as First Lady in the years to come.
