Trump Slams ‘Squad’ Member Ilhan Omar For Fraud And ‘Marrying Her Brother’

Former President Donald Trump gave a lesson to Representative Lauren Boebert – stay on offense and never apologize – in a statement shredding Ilhan Omar for fraud and “marrying her brother,” among other things.

Boebert is surely a MAGA favorite and well-liked by readers of The Political Insider. But she made a rookie mistake in issuing an apology to the far-left ‘Squad’ member Omar for an ill-advised joke that was captured on video.

The Colorado Republican had been on the offensive of late, delivering a fiery House speech in which she railed against Omar as a member of the “Jihad Squad,” pointed out her history of funneling campaign funds to her husband, and taking her own swipe at unproven rumors regarding Omar’s brother.

However, she let up off the gas a bit of late after video surfaced showing Boebert telling a terrorist joke about Omar to a crowd of supporters.

Boebert’s Apology Backfires

In the video, Boebert claimed she and Omar were both on an elevator when a Capitol police officer ran toward them “with fret all over his face.”

Congresswoman Boebert joked, “I said, ‘Well, she doesn’t have a backpack. We should be fine.'”

Shortly thereafter, she issued an apology to the Muslim community through a public statement and even reached out to Omar via phone. You can imagine how that went.

Omar reportedly insisted the apology wasn’t enough, hung up on Boebert, and continued calling on Republican leadership to hold one of their own accountable.

That means censure and being stripped of committee assignments. Democrats do not accept apologies and just move on.

But where Boebert gave up the fight, Trump picked it up.

It’s Omar Who Should Be Sorry

In a statement released Tuesday evening, President Trump chimed in and offered a glimpse as to why he is the man Republican firebrands like Boebert need to emulate as they battle today’s extremist Democrat Party.

“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should apologize for marrying her brother, committing large-scale immigration and election fraud, wishing death to Israel, and for essentially abandoning her former country, which doesn’t even have a government,” he wrote.

“Exactly what she’d like to see for the United States!”

Is he wrong? Let’s take a look point by point.

In 2019, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on documents raising questions as to whether Omar previously married her own brother as a means to “skirt immigration laws.”

Fact-checkers have responded to the persistent rumors by labeling that story “unproven.”

In January of 2020, Fox News reported on investigations involving Omar and allegations of “perjury, immigration fraud, tax fraud, student loan fraud, and possibly bigamy.”

Nothing has come of those investigations thus far.

The Political Insider has reported extensively on Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett, receiving millions from the Minnesota Representative’s campaign.

As for ‘abandoning her former country’ of war-torn Somalia and turning the United States into it, she was a child when her family left, so she didn’t exactly “abandon” it.

Senator Rand Paul backed Trump, saying he’d buy an airline ticket for Omar to visit her home country and get some perspective.

“I think she can look and maybe learn a little bit about the disaster that is Somalia, that has no capitalism, has no God-given rights guaranteed in the Constitution, and has about seven different tribes that have been fighting each other for the last 40 years,” said Paul.

“And then maybe after she visited Somalia for a while, she might come back and appreciate America more.”

That’s the kind of response Boebert needs. Trump has led by example in regards to Omar – never apologize. Demand they do so first.

And even then think twice, because it’s not as if they won’t wake up tomorrow and immediately continue casting Republicans as neo-Nazis and domestic terrorists.
