President Donald Trump said Saturday that negotiations with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un could begin soon and that the leader issued a “small apology” for testing short-range missiles.
“In a letter to me sent by Kim Jong Un, he stated, very nicely, that he would like to meet and start negotiations as soon as the joint U.S./South Korea joint exercise are over. It was a long letter, much of it complaining about the ridiculous and expensive exercises,” Trump wrote Saturday on Twitter.
“It was also a small apology for testing the short range missiles, and that this testing would stop when the exercises end. I look forward to seeing Kim Jong Un in the not too distant future! A nuclear free North Korea will lead to one of the most successful countries in the world!” he continued.
The South Korean military said North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea Saturday, reported The Associated Press.
This comes after Kim said Wednesday that the country’s ballistic missile test Tuesday was a “warning” to South Korea and the U.S. during its joint drill. North Korea normally reacts strongly to annual exercises by the U.S. and South Korea.
Trump and Kim last met in June.

I've never seen an almost world leader like Kim Jong Un suffer so much from "Little Man Disease".
This nut is seriously warning the United States? The country with the most ballistic missiles and the only country in history who ever launched an atomic bomb against another country. Find out where the little s**t is, launch one over his head and then ask for his revised opinion.
Hillary strikes again
Good comment, but on the wrong blog post. That was about Russia's hypersonic cruise missile. This one is about North Korea's short-range missiles.
I have a modest proposal. I remember a cartoon that featured a bald eagle with outstretched talons ready to attack a mouse at the bottom of the poster. The mouse was giving the eagle the middle-finger response. The caption was "Final act of defiance." Perhaps Trump could give President Xi the poster to send to Kim. Sound like a good idea?
Not yet. Revelation says that there will be survivors prior to the second coming of Yeshua (Jesus). Armageddon isn't yet, neighbor.
BS
Vlad, the Impaler, didn't want the attention with their failed missile launch, but got it anyway . . . . with nuclear fallout as an added benefit.
They must not have gotten enough rems from the Chernobyl disaster.
The whole world is about to have another war and this one will probably end all life.
First thing I thought when I heard that he had fired those missiles is that Kim wants some attention. I was absolutely right. He wants attention.
