Former President Donald Trump easily won this weekend’s 2024 straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Sunday, after giving a fiery speech slamming Joe Biden for bringing America to “the brink of ruin.”
CPAC is known as the largest gathering of influential conservatives and activists.
“In a matter of mere months, Joe Biden has brought our country to the brink of ruin,” Trump said before blasting the President over the border crisis.
“Right here in Texas we are the epicenter of a border and migration crisis unlike anything anyone has ever seen before in the history of our country,” he continued.
“We deported criminal aliens by the thousands… and we built almost 500 miles of the border wall,” Trump continued. “Now the Biden administration has turned the border into the single greatest disaster in American history.”

Trump Blasts Biden At CPAC
Donald Trump continued to hammer President Biden on a host of topics during his CPAC speech.
He lambasted Democrats for trying to project their ‘defund the police’ efforts onto the GOP, a lie so outrageous even the Washington Post had to blush.
“The Democrats know their policies on crime are so unpopular, so radical, and so crazy, they are now trying to pretend they never led the defund the police movement in the first place,” Trump said.
“But everyone knows this is an outrageous lie.”

Trump also mentioned his recent lawsuit against major Big Tech companies and their CEOs.
“They are hard at work to abolish the First Amendment as well,” he said. “The radical left and big tech’s attack on free speech is unlawful, it’s unconstitutional and it is completely un-American.”
What better example of Big Tech’s strangling of the First Amendment than canceling “America UnCanceled”…

Will Defeat The Marxists
Former President Trump’s CPAC speech wasn’t entirely negative or railing against Biden, as he offered a message of hope to the conservatives in attendance.
“With the help of everyone here today, we will defeat the radical left, the socialists, Marxists and the critical race theorists,” Trump said.
“We will secure our borders, we will stop left-wing cancel culture, we will restore free speech and free elections and we will make America great again.”
He called those in attendance “some of the staunchest and fiercest supporters” of “the greatest political movement in the history of our country.”

Trump Dominates CPAC Straw Poll
Trump’s appearance at CPAC reinforces his hold on the Republican Party. He is beloved by his supporters, as is evidenced by the crowd reaction to his speech on Biden bringing America to the brink, as well as the results of the straw poll.
The former President easily won the CPAC straw poll with 70 percent of the vote.
Joe Biden could never make a crowd go wild like this. The people are still with President Trump.

Trump earned 55 percent of the vote in a similar straw poll in February, indicating his support is only growing stronger as he flirts with a 2024 presidential campaign.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis earned 21 percent of the vote with no other GOP name getting over 1 percent.

DeSantis, however, topped the straw poll on a separate question when asked who should earn the Republican nomination if Trump doesn’t run – getting 68 percent.
