Tide Turning? MSNBC’s Scarborough Blasts Democrats’ Hypocrisy Over Maskless Photos

MSNBC's Scarborough Blasts Democrats' Hypocrisy In Going Maskless For Photos

On Tuesday, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough was joined by contributor Eddie Glaude Jr. in criticizing the hypocrisy of Democrats who support mask mandates but break them by taking photos while maskless.

The comments were made during a discussion on the news outlet’s “Morning Joe” program.

Scarborough to Dems: ‘If there’s a mask mandate, and especially if you put the mask mandate in place, wear a damn mask’

Scarborough said, “If there’s a mask mandate, and especially if you put the mask mandate in place, wear a damn mask.”

“It’s not that hard,” he exclaimed.

Glaude responded, “Absolutely, there’s two things going at once. One is a kind of virtue signaling. ‘This is what you must do. We are the good people here.’ And the other is this attempt, Joe, to keep track of hypocrisy, to keep track of the contradictions.”

“And once the hypocrisy or the contradictions are revealed, you now own them,” Glaude explained. “So in order to avoid the latter, in order to avoid the emptiness of the former, just put on the damn mask.”

The comments from MSNBC follow a similar seeming change of heart on Monday’s episode of “The View,” in which the panel ripped Democrat Stacey Abrams for a stunt in which she was pictured maskless while surrounded by small children in masks.

The Abrams episode caught fire over the weekend – especially after her campaign’s initial defense was to imply that any criticism of her behavior during Black History Month was somehow off-limits.

Pro-Mandate Democrats Going Maskless

Despite Los Angeles’s mask mandate for large events, Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and San Francisco Mayor London Breed all took pictures of themselves with celebrities at the NFC Championship Game without masks.

Garcetti ludicrously claimed it was fine because he “held his breath.”

Breed was recently seen in September in a nightclub dancing, a direct violation of her own mask guidance rules in London.

At the time, Breed’s policy included that everyone – even if you were vaccinated – had to wear a mask indoors at all times.

After being criticized, Breed called her detractors the “fun police.”
