Stacey Abrams Lashes Out At Critics Of Her Maskless Photo Op Surrounded By Masked Children

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams slammed critics of a photo showing her maskless surrounded by a masked-up class of small children, suggesting race has something to do with the criticism.

Abrams visited Glennwood Elementary School outside of Atlanta this past week where she read a class of small children her book “Stacey’s Extraordinary Words.”

Stacey was revealed to be an extraordinary hypocrite shortly thereafter when school principal, Dr. Holly Brookins, posted four pictures of Abrams’ visit to the classroom on Twitter.

Three of the images showed the Democrat maskless despite a local mask mandate that she, herself, championed.

She is surrounded by small children wearing masks.

Abrams had initially tweeted out a photo of the event, before deleting it.

Abrams’ campaign wasted no time injecting race into their damage control, issuing a statement suggesting critics were launching a partisan attack during Black History Month.

“It is shameful that our opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack,” a statement reads.

“And it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes to protecting public health during the pandemic.”

A spokeswoman for Stacey Abrams also contends that she only took it off during certain circumstances.

“She wore a mask to the event, and removed it at the podium so she could be heard by students watching remotely and for photos, but only with folks who were masked.”

It’s no doubt Democrats all believe it’s more critical for their elitist faces to be seen than that of children or the common person.

Abrams deleted the tweet, indicating she at least recognizes the problem with the photo. Especially considering she has called Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp “incompetent” for moving to block local mask mandates.

When Kemp was attempting to ban mandates in July of 2020, Abrams said he was “following the lead of the incompetency and the immorality” of former President Donald Trump by refusing to acknowledge the danger he’s causing.

“Stacey Abrams wants state government mask mandates for Georgians and their children,” Kemp tweeted. “But it looks like they wouldn’t apply when she’s attending a photo op.”

“This pathetic, transparent and silly attack is beneath anyone who claims he wants to lead Georgia,” the statement from Abrams’ camp adds, referencing Kemp.

Abrams joins a growing list of Democrats who, when caught maskless, offer outrageous excuses for doing so or merely attack their critics after being caught.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who found himself under fire last week for taking a maskless photo with NBA legend Magic Johnson in defiance of his own local COVID protocols, downplayed concerns and defended himself by saying he held his breath during the brief interaction.

California Governor Gavin Newsom was in a separate photo with Johnson, also maskless.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was caught partying maskless in Florida then claimed critics were just ‘sexually frustrated’ because they can’t date her.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) was recently seen on camera at a restaurant blowing past a large sign reading “masks required to enter” without her mask.

Gillibrand apologized for the incident and promised she “will do better going forward.”
