Viewers of the 2015 Miss America pageant may have been surprised at some of the political questions, but the one that drew the most attention was asked of Miss Alabama.

Taya Kyle, the widow of Chris Kyle, asked Meg McGuffin about Donald Trump. McGuffin, who is an Auburn alumna, made it clear she is not a fan of the real estate mogul and reality show host.

“I think Donald Trump is an entertainer and I think he says what’s on a lot of peoples’ minds, but I think the Republican party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie who could absolutely do the job of President of the United States.

If I were Republican I would be absolutely terrified of that. Thank you.”

The crowd roared in approval. And the answer appeared to please Kyle, who had endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry in his now-retired bid for the White House. Last week, Kyle expressed concern that Trump didn’t have a good grasp of the challenging issues of the day.

Although McGuffin didn’t get crowned Miss America, she did place well, at fourth place.
