A school district in Pennsylvania voted to effectively dismantle their rifle team by refusing a nearly $5,000 donation from the NRA, with one school director calling it “dirty money.”
The Stroudsburg Area School District’s board voted 6-2 Monday to reject a $4,730 grant from the NRA, an organization committed to the proper use of firearms.
“The NRA is a group that has transformed from a bunch of people who liked hunting in the ’50s to something that, quite frankly, is a hateful, divisive group that seeks nothing but to push guns on people,” Director Alex Reincke, the man who called their money ‘dirty,’ said.
“We have students organizing marches in Washington [and] all around this nation crying out for their lives,” a melodramatic State Rep. Maureen Madden (D) said. “God forbid anything happens in this school, how are we going to feel about taking that money?”
Hmm … Not sure why a rifle association’s donations to a rifle team would be controversial. If that’s your line of thinking, then a rifle team in your school district should be banned for being equally ‘dirty.’
Members of the team pleaded with the board to accept the grant, to no avail.

Where the school administrators failed the students, the community stepped in to help the rifle team. In particular, NRA members.
One local business dismayed by the school board’s decision put out a call to others in the community and bundled over $6,000 – more than enough to replace the NRA grant.
“It is important to note, they (local business leaders) are all members of the NRA and strongly disagree with the school board’s decision and further attempt to politicize guns in this country, on the backs of our kids,” the organizer of the fundraiser said in a news release. “Guns and hunting are part of the very fabric of the Pocono community.”

Will the school accept the donations?
After all, they’re coming from gun owners and NRA members. Isn’t that ‘dirty’ money too?
Just another example of liberals overreacting to something to the detriment of students and level-headed community members stepping in to fix the situation.
