Former Kavanaugh Classmate Steve Kantrowitz Claims He Revealed He Wasn’t a Virgin

You know Democrats are grasping when they’re focusing on whether or not someone was sexually active in high school.

Last night, Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, defended himself against claims of sexual harassment on Fox News. In his defense, he claimed that he wasn’t sexually active in high school and for many years afterward.

These comments may be used to defend his character, but they don’t necessarily clear him of wrongdoing. After all, Christine Blasey Ford, the original accuser, never claimed Kavanaugh raped her.

However, Ford is still sticking by her story that Kavanaugh assaulted her while they were in high school. She’s set to testify about her story this Thursday, though it’s not 100% certain she’ll show up. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Accuser Christine Blasey Ford Indicates She May Not Testify After All.)

An alleged former classmate of Kavanaugh is seizing upon his virginity comments and is claiming that Kavanaugh is lying. Steve Kantrowitz, a history professor, says that Kavanaugh actually admitted to not being a virgin while they were students at Yale.

Normally, such a statement would get lost in the chattering ether that is Twitter. Except some journalists are promoting his statement like it’s the Gospel.

Jane Mayer, The New Yorker journalist who co-authored a dubious account by a second accuser against Kavanaugh, boosted Kantrowtiz’s statement. Take a look:

She appears to take it at face value. Kantrowitz is an “award-winning history professor,” thus everything he claims should be taken seriously.

But as The Weekly Standard contributor Jeryl Bier points out, Kantrowitz has a history of making partisan-laced, anti-Kavanaugh statements.

Can we really trust his account then? Surely they would warrant more than a retweet from a The New Yorker journalist with little context and even less history attached to them. Mayer could have done a little bit of digging to see that Kantrowitz appears to be a partisan Democrat. Or, at the very least, is no fan of Kavanaugh.

A disclaimer is all we request here, folks.

None of this is surprising. After all, the report Mayer co-wrote with Ronan Farrow had a myriad of gaps and unverifiable claims. No self-respecting news outlet would have run it. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Accuser Deborah Ramirez Has Major Holes in Her Story.)

Yet again, the liberal media is running hog wild with unverified claims about Kavanaugh. When will this nonsense stop?
