Comedian John Mulaney hosted “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend, and he shamelessly used his opening monologue to attack President Donald Trump in the worst way possible.
In his monologue, Mulaney compared Trump to the ancient Roman leader Julius Caeser, who he described as “a powerful maniac” that was murdered by a group of senators.
“It is a Leap Year, as I said. Leap Year began in 45 B.C. under Julius Caesar. This is true, he started the Leap Year in order to correct the calendar, and we still do it to this day,” Mulaney said. “Another thing that happened under Julius Caesar, he was such a powerful maniac that all the senators grabbed knives, and they stabbed him to death. That would be an interesting thing if we brought that back now.”

Mulaney went on to double down on this by making it clear that this joke was planned out beforehand.
“I asked my lawyer if I could make that joke, he said, let me call another lawyer, and that lawyer said yes. I don’t want to dwell on politics, but I dislike the Founding Fathers immensely,” Mulaney said.
“I hate when people are like, God has never created such a great group of men than the Founding Fathers. Yeah, the ’92 Bulls. That’s a perfect metaphor for the United States. When I was a boy, the United States was like Michael Jordan in 1992. Now the United States is like Michael Jordan now.”

Can you imagine what would have happened had a comedian made a “joke” like this about Barack Obama during his presidency? All Hell would have broken loose, and the comedian would undoubtedly have been shamed and blacklisted. Since Mulaney made this joke about Trump, however, he has suffered virtually no backlash whatsoever.
Trump Derangement Syndrome has now gone so far that liberals have no problem with people joking about killing the president on national television. Remember that the next time anyone on the left tries to preach about the importance of “civility.”
