Donald Trump Nicknames Steve Bannon ‘Sloppy Steve’

Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has angered President Trump in a way few have ever done before, and it’s earned him a nickname for the ages.

Trump fired off a late-night tweet in which he hammered Bannon and Michael Wolff, author of the anti-Trump book, “Fire and Fury.”

The book purports to chronicle the President’s first year in office but is riddled with completely fabricated tales.

Bannon is featured prominently throughout Wolff’s book, including recent bombshell revelations that he labeled a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer as “treasonous.”

Trump responded by saying that “When he (Bannon) was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”

But that was nothing compared to what would come next – anointing his former strategist with a dreaded nickname.

The President claims he never gave Wolff access to the White House, resulting in a “phony book,” then asserted that the lies throughout would be a career-killer for him and “Sloppy Steve.”

In the meantime, things are getting worse for Bannon. Aside from the nickname, which according to Twitter trends is likely to stick, the board at Breitbart News where he serves as executive chairman is considering removing him in part because of the current feud with the President.

Breitbart stakeholder and billionaire Republican donor Rebekah Mercer issued a statement saying “My family and I have not communicated with Steve Bannon in many months and have provided no financial support to his political agenda, nor do we support his recent actions and statements.”

“I support President Trump and the platform upon which he was elected,” she added.

The White House has seemingly urged Breitbart to consider ousting Bannon.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked about a possible ‘parting of ways’ between Breitbart and Bannon, to which she responded: “I certainly think that is something they should look at and consider.”

One thing seems clear – the fireworks between Bannon and President Trump have only just begun.
