Has hell frozen over? Notorious lefty film maker Michael Moore just defended Trump voters – on MSNBC of all places!
According to the Daily Caller, Moore was on “Morning Joe” on Friday where he defended Trump voters from charges of racism. While the left is screaming about white racists, the fact is that the states that put Trump over the top voted for the first black president in the last 2 election cycles.
Moore was pushing back against another panelist who said “deep racial animus” at the heart of the country was behind Trump’s win. “What I’m trying to get at, is at the heart of this country is some deep racial animus that animates the very communities we’re trying to lift up,” Eddie Glaude Jr., chair of the African American department at Princeton University told the panel.
“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough replied: “I have to repeat it again because it’s maddening. People who live by data should die by data, and the data according to Nate Cohn of the New York Times says this, and let those who have ears to hear, hear: The very people who helped elect Barack Obama president of the United States twice just elected in Wisconsin, in Michigan, in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Donald J. Trump. It’s the data.”
Moore took it from there. “You have to accept that millions of people who voted for Barack Obama, some of them once, some of them twice, changed their minds this time. They’re not racist. They twice voted for a man whose middle name is Hussein. That’s the America you live in.”
Although Michael Moore hates Donald Trump, he has shockingly been one of the few liberal celebrities who understands Trump’s appeal to middle class voters like those from his home state of Michigan and realizes they’re not horrible people like everyone else on the left seems to think. Moore even predicted Trump’s win. Last month he presciently said, “[Trump]’s saying the things to people who are hurting, and that’s why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump…Trump’s election is going to be the biggest ‘f**k you’ ever recorded in human history — and it will feel good.”
I can’t believe I am agreeing with Michael Moore, but he’s right – it was an FU election and damn does it feel good!
