Second Woman Accuses Biden of Being Inappropriate, Says He Shouldn’t Run in 2020

43-year-old Amy Lappos told The Courant on Monday that Joe Biden should not seek the White House in 2020 and detailed her own uncomfortable encounters with the former vice president.

“It wasn’t sexual, but he did grab me by the head,” said Lappos. “He put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me. When he was pulling me in, I thought he was going to kiss me on the mouth.”

Lappos claims this all took place during a fundraiser for Connecticut Democratic Congressman Jim Himes who she worked for as a congressional aide.

Lappos told the Washington Examiner that her incident with Biden reminded her of former Democratic Senator Al Franken allegedly groping women. Franken resigned in 2017 after a number of women accused him of sexual misconduct.

“This is the Al Franken thing all over again,” Lappos said.

Lappos Wanted to Defend Other Biden Accuser, Lucy Flores

On Sunday, Lappos defended Nevada Democrat Assemblywoman Lucy Flores who came forward recently with accusations that Biden had been inappropriate with her during a 2014 campaign event. Flores was immediately attacked by Democrats for doing so.

Those attacks are part of what prompted Lappos to speak out.

“Women of my own party are tearing apart Flores and it was my responsibility to come forward,” Lappos told the Examiner. “What he did was hideous. It was an invasion of personal space and incredibly awkward. Joe Biden can’t keep his hands to himself. I’ve been hearing things and reading things for so long and I just had to say something.”

These accusations compelled Biden to respond, saying he “never” touched anyone inappropriately.

Biden has also said that throughout his many years in public service, any interaction he has had with women was never meant to make them uncomfortable.

At the moment, most Democrats seem willing to give the former vice president the benefit of the doubt

Would Trump be Treated the Same Way?

This all begs the question: President Trump has been accused of being sexually inappropriate with women, but does a single Democrat glad-hand those accusations in the same way so many are willing to do with Biden?

Is #MeToo a legitimate movement to address how women are routinely sexually assaulted and mistreated by men, or is it a movement that just wants to focus on such misbehavior when non-Democrats are accused of it?
