Things got a bit bizarre during Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ White House press briefing the other day. She’s fielded many pointless comments from journalists over her brief tenure in the position of press secretary, and yesterday was no different.
It was released to the public earlier this week that the Pentagon had an “Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program” from 2007-2012 that collected information from members of the military when they spotted unidentified flying objects (UFOs). You can even view some of the footage from those reports (the UFO in the video below is almost certainly a drone, by the way).
In response to the news, one journalist decided he’d get President Donald Trump’s stance on the existence of UFOs. The Hill’s Jordan Fabian began to say to Huckabee Sanders “I actually want to ask about UFOs” before laughter broke out.

Fabian was in the process of asking Sanders whether the president believed in the existence of extraterrestrial beings and if he intended to restore funding to the program when his phone’s Siri function appeared to go off.
“I don’t know if that’s a coincidence or not,” Sanders responded jokingly, as the reporters laughed. “I feel like I already want to pass on this question given that you have aliens sitting among you.”
The press secretary then admitted she had not discussed the topic with Trump.
“Somehow that question hasn’t come up in our back-and-forth over the last couple days,” she said. “But I will check into that and be happy to circle back.”

Of course, liberal publications were quick to narrate this story as if Huckabee Sanders laughed off the question to conceal Trump’s true stance. “SARAH SANDERS WON’T SAY WHETHER TRUMP BELIEVES IN U.F.O.S” read one headline over at Vanity Fair.
We’re pretty sure the topic of UFOs is simply one she never thought to bring up in the first place. Because it’s absurd.
