Watch: Sarah Sanders Absolutely Shuts Down CNN’s Jim Acosta When He Defends ‘Fake News’

As is typical, CNN reporter and alleged journalist Jim Acosta tried making a White House press briefing all about him, attempting to commandeer an interaction with White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

Acosta was trying to make the argument that members of the mainstream media may make “honest mistakes” but they are not “fake news.”

Sanders was in the midst of a discussion of a recent slew of media reports that were presented as bombshells against the Trump Administration, but were later retracted or corrected.

Sanders specifically addressed the Brian Ross false news report that President Trump had directed Michael Flynn to contact the Russians as a candidate, not as President-elect. It was a false story that led to Ross’s suspension for several weeks.

“When journalists make honest mistakes, they should own up to them,” Sanders said. “Sometimes, and a lot of times, you don’t.”

Acosta tried to interrupt, but Sanders was having none of it.

“I’m sorry, I’m not finished,” she said. “There is a very big difference between making honest mistakes and purposefully misleading the American people … you cannot say it’s an honest mistake when you’re purposely putting out information you know is false.”

Acosta challenged Sanders to name a specific incident in which the media had reported false news intentionally, to which she immediately shot back with the Ross story.

She could have gone after Acosta’s own network.

CNN embarrassingly posted an alleged ‘bombshell’ article recently that contended Donald Trump, Jr., had received an email from Wikileaks with a decryption key to hacked information. The report got the date wrong by 10 days, and the hacked information was already public knowledge at the time, destroying the premise for the entire story.

CNN had to issue a correction hours later when The Washington Post, of all places, debunked the story.

But that didn’t stop Acosta from pretending he had no idea that his own network had produced the ‘fake news.’

Acosta continually tried to interrupt Sanders, but she shut him down for good saying “Jim, I’m gonna say once and for all that I’m moving on.”

“I’m not taking another question from you.”
