Rick Perry Absolutely Crushes President Obama

During a Townhall forum featuring Rep. Trey Gowdy, Sen. Tim Scott, and Rick Perry, conversation shifted to the prison at Gitmo, the war in Iraq, and the sacrifice made by our men and women in the military.  During one particular segment, the former Texas governor grew emotional when discussing military service and sacrifice.

Perry explained that having put a uniform on himself (he served in the Air Force), he knows first hand of the sacrifices made by our military.  It’s an understanding that President Obama could never hope to attain.

During a particularly emotional moment, Governor Perry went off script to discuss his deep-rooted feelings about military service:

Turning to his gubernatorial experience, Perry said, “I signed a letter a week from 2003 to 2010 to a Texas family who lost a loved one.”

“I understand. Having worn the uniform of this country, I know what our young men and women go through. I had a young Navy SEAL that lived with us for two years, Marcus Luttrell. I know what this war cost. I’ve seen it in their faces. I’ve seen it in the families’ faces,” said Perry struggling to speak. “We need a president who understands that to their soul and that will never, ever put those young men and women in jeopardy and harms’ way unless we’ve used up every option that we have.”

There’s so much more to enjoy from Perry in the clip (seen below) – from saying that the Iran deal proves Obama can’t connect the dots on foreign policy, to explaining why the current President created the quagmire in the Middle East with his politically motivated troop withdrawal. Perry really truly lets loose.
