Rep. Mast: ‘They Did Not Acknowledge Us, And Just Closed The House Down’

GOP Rep. Brian Mast, who was wounded during combat in Afghanistan, said that Pelosi ignored the request made by Republicans to read the names.

“We gaveled in, had a prayer, said the Pledge of Allegiance, took a moment of silence with pretty much all Republican veterans, then asked to be recognized to read names and bring up Afghanistan legislation,” Mast said during an interview with the Floridian.

“They did not acknowledge us, and just closed the House down,” Mast headed.

GOP Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez tweeted,  “How badly do Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats want to cover up this Afghanistan debacle?”

“House Democrats just refused to recognize Republican veterans on the House Floor to read the names of our fallen service members in Afghanistan. That’s how far our nation has fallen,” Steube tweeted.

Democrats Also Blocked Vote That Would Force Biden To Rescue Stranded Americans In Afghanistan

To date, 40 Republicans have called for president Biden to resign over his poor handling of exiting Afghanistan including leaving some Americans stranded there.

Bill author Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher, a Marine veteran, said of the move, “House Democrats have had not one, but two opportunities to join House Republicans in supporting legislation to hold this administration accountable and do whatever is necessary to save lives. Both times, they declined to join our efforts to do so. This is unacceptable.”
