Republican Rep. Nancy Mace Carries Gun After Death Threats: ‘I’m Not Going To Be Intimidated’

After having her home vandalized and receiving death threats, GOP Congresswoman Nancy Mace is now carrying a firearm to defend herself.

The Republican told Fox News that she was out of town on Memorial Day when the vandalism and threats took place.

Rep. Mace: ‘Buying Another Firearm. This One To Carry’

“When they show up to your house, and physically just, you know, try to destroy it with graffiti, it’s personal and it’s invasive and it’s violating, and it doesn’t feel good,” Mace said.

Spray painted at her home were the messages “F—k you Nancy” and “all politicians are bastards.” A police investigation is ongoing.

The incident prompted Mace to buy a new firearm to carry.

“Buying another firearm,” Mace wrote on her personal Twitter account in June. “This one to carry.”

Mace: ‘It Doesn’t Feel Good That I Feel Like I Have To Look Behind My Shoulder Every Day’

Mace noted, “I now go to the gun range almost weekly to practice shooting,” she said.

Fox news noted on Monday that Rep. Mace claimed the Memorial Day incident was not the first time she had been targeted.

“In October 2020, a month before narrowly defeating Democrat incumbent Joe Cunningham, she reported that her car had been keyed,” Fox News reported. “After receiving death threats in December, she got a concealed weapons permit.”

Mace said, “It doesn’t feel good that I feel like I have to look behind my shoulder every day. It doesn’t feel safe.”

Mace: ‘I’m Not Going To Live In Fear’

The South Carolina Republican said she has become a regular gun carrier.

“I carry a gun wherever I go today,” Mace said. “Wherever I’m allowed to, I do carry.”

Mace is the first woman to graduate from The Citadel and noted that guns were always in her house when she was being raised. She also trains her children how to shoot.

“When this happened, it really changed everything for me,” Mace said. “I’m not going to live in fear, and I’m not going to be intimidated.” said Mace.

Mace added, “I think it’s one of the most empowering things that you can do is to be able to defend yourself.”
